The first day of the month brings the first test of the month and also, the first pass of the month.
This time it's a MASSIVE congratulations and well done to Leoni Williams, as she passed her driving test earlier today.
She came to me for lessons after unsuccessfully attempting the driving test with a previous instructor and it didn't take long for me to realise what the biggest obstacle was going to be.
Self doubt.
In my opinion Leoni is a really good driver and from day one of lessons together I've hardly ever had to physically intervene, because of the level of her driving.
The biggest issue has been trying to get her to believe that she can actually drive really well, as any little thing seemed to be over thought.
All I could do was give plenty of positive reinforcement and shutdown any negative comments that came my way during lessons and eventually things started to change.
Leoni started looking at the positives in lessons, she stopped dwelling on mistakes and even though we maybe didn't remove the self doubt entirely, we got to a point where overthinking every little thing wasn't a common issue anymore.
That brings us to today, where Leoni ended her test with a well deserved pass.
Well done again, all the best with your future driving and don't let self doubt hold you back from doing anything.
