Before Subaru UK and 's all conquering burst onto the WRC - FIA World Rally Championship there really was only one name to beat in the rallying world and that was Lancia. To this day as a constructor, they still hold the record for the most wins.

So when this 1987 showroom condition paid a visit to our Bush Tyres Horncastle depot for a routine , the team all knew that they were looking at something very special indeed.

0-60mph comes up in just 5.7 seconds powered by its 16v turbocharged 2.0ltr engine which develops 200bhp.

That may not seem like alot by todays standards but considering the Lancia weighs less than 1300kg, when that turbo starts singing, you can see why Lancia dominated the World Rally Championship.

During the late 1980' early 1990's, Lancia racked up 46 victories and six consecutive constructors' championship titles from 1987 to 1992.

You'd have to travel far a wide to see a better example of a Lancia Delta HF Integrale over this one, and granted this particular car may not rack up that many miles over the coming year.

But with a clean bill of health and a fresh MOT, when the owner does decide to drive it, it will be ready for wherever they decide to point it and fully road legal.

When first manufactured back in 1990 this Porsche #944 featured a 3.0 litre 16 valve 4 cylinder engine which was the largest production engine of its time. Naturally aspirated the 944 produced 208bhp and afforded the driver turbo level performance without the turbo lag suffered at the time.

Amongst Porsche purists, the 944 S2 still remains to this day a highly coveted and collectable car.

Matching the period look of the car our Bush Tyres Grimsby tyre technicians fitted a full set of tyres.

As per the customers request, our tyre fitter from our Bush Tyres Kings Lynn depot fitted 4 brand new Nokian Tyres to this New Holland Agriculture .

What makes these Ground King tyres particularly special is that they feature Nokian's 1.0 system.

Within in each tyre sits a small sensor that transmits tyre pressure and tyre temperatures in realtime via to a smartphone app.

This means the operator at a glance can see live data on the condition and performance of each individual tyre. Nokian's pioneering system also alerts the tractor operator when there is a critical pressure drop or when overheating in the tyre is detected.

Thankfully the weather stayed fine for what proved to be yet another cracking event at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre in East Kirkby.

On the August bank holiday Monday, visitors were greeted with some of the worlds most exotic, classic and very rare automotive examples alongside "Just Jane" the Aviation centre's

It is claimed though unsubstantiated, that the Ford creates it's own gravitational field.
Some say, had Issac Newton been alive in 1960's America, it wouldn't have been the apple that fell from the tree that led him to discover gravity, it would have been the effect the has on attracting people towards it.

This 4.7ltr all burbled and rumbled with all the drawl of a 'Tennessee Country Singer' into our Bush Tyres Kings Lynn depot for a full wheel alignment.

Once on our ramps, work could begin on bringing the wheels on this American State sized cruiser back to Ford's 1963 original specification.

With the wheels back in alignment thanks to our skilled technicians, the owner should see the benefit of increased fuel economy, better handling and increased tyre longevity.

Whilst an American 4.7ltr dating back to the 1960's is never going to be the most fuel efficient vehicle in the world, being able to add an extra few miles per gallon, and given the price of fuel currently can only be a good thing.

Take *Lennon & McCartney, Simon & Garfunkel, Pie & Mash, & somehow they just click to become greater than the sum of their parts.

Without question though, you need to add Porsche & Manthey-Racing GmbH to that list, together they've taken the to the next level & have created automotive perfection.

It doesn't matter what anyone says, any car that is capable of covering the 20.8 kilometres of the Nürburgring in 6:55.737 minutes is eyewateringly quick.

To cover that lap the GT3 had to average over 118mph & to put that into some kind of perspective, at that speed a stationary object 100metres away would take under 2 seconds to reach.

The GT3 PDK is able to do this thanks to lightweight wheels, carbon fibre aerodiscs on the rear wheels to create additional down force, a carbon fibre rear wing, uprated coilovers and a wind tunnel honed aerodynamics package.

The responsibilty for transferring the awesome #992 GT3's power to the road is given to and in particular their tyres.

These street legal tyres which our Bush Tyres were asked to fit, have been engineered for supercars and track day drivers.

The only way to describe this 1969 Porsche #911 is stunning, but even then, that doesn't do justice to how achingly gorgeous this piece of Germanic automotive brilliance actually is.

When new this 911 left the factory with 231bhp and a top speed of 152mph which must have been astonishing at the time for a road legal sports car.

The 's wheels and 185/70 HR15 tyres combine period looks with contemporary performance, and with a full wheel alignment completed the owner will undoubtedly be in for a thrilling driving experience whenever they decide to point it down the road.

Fendt's #724 Vario heavy duty utilises a or to use its correct term a "Continuously Variable Transmission".

Effectively 's 724 Vario tractor can vary its power by combining mechanical and hydraulic inputs, and transmitting them through a single output shaft. That said without a decent set of tyres in each corner all the power and variable transmissions in the world will get you nowhere if you can't efficiently transfer that power through the tyres into the ground to generate traction.
