Just so people are aware I can oversize the dc2 repair panels if needed (usually to replace someone else’s bodged attempt at a fix first time haha) just as an example on this current batch the right panel had about 35mm more material on the edge and end (no they are not finished yet)

These are custom orders and do carry a surcharge as I have to cut from sheet steel stock vs using a laser cut blank (there is a big price difference vs the 2) plus a surcharge as they do take a little longer to shape

And I managed an hour to whip this brake off the fn2 just now. Everything is free carrier side as expected with it all being replaced and done just under a year ago.

Calliper looks near mint still however I changed it out with a recon unit and took the faulty one inside. Pistons mint, seals look mint, cylinder and screw rod look mint (the piston Actully screws up and down the rod no issues whatsoever) however the rear lever is seriously hard to actuate (literally had to get a long bar to get it to move) , so something inside at the bottom mech is binding badly. I can only assume I have moved the car out, put the handbrake on at my gate entrance which is on a slope, shut the gate and the handbrake mechanism has remained locked on solid inside that calliper. Unfortunately whilst I have most tools I don’t have anything long enough to get right into the innards to get those bits out to see what’s wrong (fortunately these callipers did come with a warranty on them)

Just annoying and go’s to show even new parts can have issues. Just glad it did it right outside my shop and not 20/30 miles away lol 😂

Small delay in getting panels out this week. I’m out of wood for crates and jumped in the fn2 to get to the builders merchant for wood, 500 meters down the road I had this haha. Joys of Honda ownership (and to add insult to injury these calliper’s were brand new less than 600-800 miles ago and had new slide pins and the lot changed bar the disks)

Find out the cause this weekend when I get 10 mins to pull it apart as new caliper turns up this afternoon at some point and it’s likely that (could be something else like a seized cable or handbrake mech lol.)

Unfortunately i can’t get wood sheets this size into my mr2 haha.

Just a reminder for people as all the panels I make are made to order only and not a stock item they are non refundable after shipping, and I will levy a cancellation charge on them close to shipping.

The only exception to this are panels made incorrectly which is very very rare as I normally check everything against oem offcuts or quarters once they are done (if you watch my dc2 arch time lapse video it shows how many times and often a panel gets laid against it to check) . In the event I do make one incorrectly then I will replace it at my cost asap and arrange the old one collecting (so keep your original shipping crate)

I don’t do refunds because you have sold the car or changed plans, or if your Bodyshop or welder vastly underestimates the hours needed to do the job and you cannot afford to have it done etc. Every panel I sell I have fitted to a car on site here so I know they will go on.

If you need to move them on for whatever reason they should sell very easily on Facebook owners group pages or via marketplace/ebay at asking price or just below.

Just realised that I have not put a post up in a while haha. Super mental busy at the moment (no holiday for again this year haha). White dc2 shell has been painted and the panels and suspension are all getting done now and can go straight onto the car as and when they get processed (currently on with this along side making panel orders)

Black dc2 has been a pita but more to come on that on its final update once it’s 100% finished

Next dc2 is in and I have almost finished Making all the panels for this one and this is the car that’s getting the YouTube dc2 panel install guide, so if you want to see it in video then subscribe to the channel or follow on here for the links. (It’s just in for rear quarters and not a full resto)

And as it’s September a reminder please order your panels if you’re planning on doing or having your car welded and painted this winter as the order books are getting very busy again. Every year I get messages from people or Bodyshops asking about panels because a car has come in and then they find out there is a big wait on them and they now have a car stuck on site taking up space and can’t do anything until they get them . Currently it’s a 4-6 week wait on small arch orders and as I have 2 full panel sets ordered last month full panel sets are looking like a potential 12 week wait until those are both finished. So if you want a large set please order asap, and those eta on the lead time is a guide only, there is only me here and I’m mega busy all year round.

Anyhow once this set of cars are finished the next 2 are looking like mk2 Crx’s so expect a YouTube series on that next one and it’s a full resto job too.

As for a crx arch batch around xmas it depends where I am at with workload and panel orders, if I have time I might do a small run however it’s based on the above.

Right this has been a long time coming and many many have asked over the past 10 years. So launching my YouTube channel in the next few weeks. Content will be focused on everything I do on site, so from panel fabrication, how I weld and fit all the panels I make here, and every stage of a restoration from start to finish including all the paint and polishing stages.

These videos should also work very well as a guide for how to Fit my panels and rough timescales and hours to expect in doing it, and also make other panels i need that do not currently sell.

So time consuming these crx arches at a full day per panel (and hours of that is checking shapes/crowns/lines and measurements against oem panels hundreds of times). Ended up enlarging the lower portion to cover the vast bulk of material down there .

On that note im reluctant to continue to offer these on a make to sale basis, I will do a limited small batch per year and that’s it (not an issue for cars on site as I can and do make everything as required)
