Congratulations to Jordan Mase on passing his practical driving test at Crawley test centre on Tuesday afternoon (03/11/26). It was a great FIRST TIME pass with only a few driver faults.

Jordan contacted me in June wanting to do an intensive course ahead of a test he had booked, which he hoped to move to an earlier date. He had taken a few lessons around 10 years ago but hadn’t driven for a while.

After doing an initial assessment we discussed different options and settled on a 30 hour intensive course over a couple of week leading up to his test, which we ultimately were not able to move as he had hoped.

During the course Jordan was progressing quicker than anticipated, which allowed us to include a number of journeys that he would do after passing, one of which was a drive to Chichester.

Well done Jordan, it was great to hear the result when the examiner told you that you had passed, along with the positive feedback you received.

When you take that first solo drive remember what you have learnt and keep safe.

Dillon Coward, 16, had his first driving experience at the Young Drivers Track at Dunsfold on Sunday morning.

Well done Dillon, after a nervous start you soon got into the swing of things and progressed nicely throughout the session.

We were able to get through a few gears changes, try out some junctions and even managed a bit of reversing, with a few tries of a ‘turn in the road’ towards the end.

The session today should set you up nicely for when you begin lessons on the road in a couple of weeks.

If you are looking for an intensive driving course over the next few months now is the time to get booked in.

With enquiries coming in on a daily basis a few courses have already been secured for January and February. Booking is currently open through until the end of March.

Our intensive and semi-intensive courses are designed to help learners progress quickly and confidently, with course lengths tailored to suit your current level of experience.

An initial assessment lesson will be carried out to evaluate your driving ability before recommending the most suitable course duration.

Unfortunately we are no longer able to book a practical test on your behalf due to recent changes implemented by the DVSA. The DVSA are still allowing tests to be swapped between learners and we can help facilitate that to find a suitable date if you have a test booked.

Bolney is the furthest south someone can go to on a test out of the Crawley test centre.

It has a loop in the village with a 20mph speed limit. It can get narrow in places. It also happens to be on a bus route, just to make it more interesting.

Mia Balchin, 16, had a session at the Young Drivers Track at Dunsfold on Sunday morning.

Well done Mia, it was good to see you remembered some things from the previous time you had spent at the track and was soon getting into the swing of things.

With some access limitations in place it allowed us to do a few different reversing exercises. You took on the challenge of a ‘turn in the road’ in a narrow section of road, before getting yourself into a parking space, both forward and reverse.

The skills learnt today will help prepare you nicely for when you are able to start lessons on the road next year.

Congratulations to Marcus Burnell-Spector on passing his practical driving test at Crawley test centre on Thursday afternoon (08/10/25) with only a few driver faults.

Marcus contacted me earlier in April asking about an intensive course. He had been given my details by a friend who had completed an intensive course a couple of years ago. At the time of his enquiry Marcus hadn’t passed the theory test so we delayed doing an assessment until that was done. He advised that he had had some driving lessons previously but wanted to do an intensive course to complete his learning. As he didn’t live locally we agreed to meet at Three Bridges Station for any assessment and subsequent lessons.

After doing an initial assessment at the end of June we discussed options of doing either a 20 hour or 24 hour intensive course. Whilst we had hoped to complete a 24 hour course we were only able to actually do 20 hours ahead of his first test.

Whilst Marcus didn’t get the positive outcome he wanted with the test at the end of the course he put that behind him and was able to book another test for six weeks later.

Before completing some refresher training Marcus had been able to review the dashcam footage from his test to reflect on the issues that he had encountered. We then completed a further four hours training, using the hours carried over from the intensive course. During that time we refreshed his knowledge and ironed out his previous mistakes. This led to him being able to achieve the pass he had worked hard for.

Well done Marcus, it great to hear the examiner tell you that you had passed. There was some good, positive, feedback from the examiner that you should be pleased with. Also take note of the guidance he offered going forward too.

Have fun looking for a car. When you have that first drive on your own remember what you have learned and keep safe.
