Congratulations to Josh Brand on passing his practical driving test at Crawley test centre on Thursday morning (03/09/26). It was a great pass with only four driver faults.

It’s been a long road for Josh to get his licence, but he’s never given up and has been rewarded today. I was first contacted by Josh in November 2023, when he enquired about an intensive course. Whilst we completed the course in February 2024 Josh unfortunately didn’t get the results he wanted on the test that followed. That didn’t put him off though and he did take further tests, including one in his own car.

Since his last test in April 2024 Josh has taken a break from lessons, with life getting in the way. Josh contacted me again in early July asking if I could give him some refresher training ahead of this test. Despite having not driven much recently Josh was up to speed after 4 sessions of 1.5 hours and came away from the test as a full licence holder.

Well done Josh, it was great to hear the result when the examiner told you that you had passed, along with the positive feedback you received.

Enjoy the freedom when you get yourself a car. Getting to work will become a lot easier than relying on trains. When you take that first solo drive, remember what you have learnt and keep safe.

🗓️ NEW DATE CONFIRMED! 🪂

An update on Peter Bellamy’s fundraiser for St Catherine's Hospice, Crawley.

With the tandem skydive postponed on Sunday due to the weather forecast not being suitable for skydiving Peter Bellamy’s tandem skydive has been rescheduled for Sunday 13th September.

His Justgiving fundraising page remains active, with further donations having been received over recent days. With a target set of £500 the total raised at the moment sits at £662.95. 👏🏻

It has been truly amazing seeing the donations coming in, as funding is so vital for this brilliant local hospice.

UPDATE - TANDEM SKYDIVE POSTPONED ! 🪂

An update on Peter Bellamy’s fundraiser for St Catherine's Hospice, Crawley.

Earlier this afternoon GoSkyDive sent out notifications that due to the weather forecast for Sunday 30th August they were postponing all skydives for that day.

A new date for the tandem skydive cannot be arranged until their office reopens on Tuesday. An update will be provided then.

In the meantime the Justgiving page remains open for any donations, large or small. Any support would be really appreciated.

A good experience happened on a lesson yesterday for one learner.

Whilst waiting at traffic lights to turn right onto Haslett Avenue East from Southgate Avenue a Fire Engine appeared behind us. 🚒

The Fire Engine turned their sirens off all the time the traffic light remained red, whilst keeping their own lights flashing.

It wasn’t clear until the traffic lights changed to green which direction the Fire Engine was going. As they started moving they put on a right signal.

The best thing we could then do was not move. They had the lane to our left clear, which they used and then proceeded right.

Not every learner gets to experience dealing with one of the emergency services on a call during their lessons, so it’s good when they do have to.

With an influx of enquiries for intensive courses over recent days availability through until the end of January is becoming limited.

If you are looking for an intensive driving course over the next few months, so you can pass your driving test before the end of 2026, I would recommend acting fast before the remaining spaces get snapped up.

Our intensive and semi-intensive courses are designed to help learners progress quickly and confidently, with course lengths tailored to suit your current level of experience.

An initial assessment lesson will be carried out to evaluate your driving ability before recommending the most suitable course duration.

Unfortunately we are no longer able to book a practical test on your behalf due to recent changes implemented by the DVSA. The DVSA are still allowing tests to be swapped between learners and we can help facilitate that to find a suitable date if you have a test booked.

A little update on Peter Bellamy’s fundraiser for St Catherine's Hospice, Crawley.

With just a week to go before Peter Bellamy does his tandem skydive at Headcorn aerodrome he is currently £7.05 short of his fundraising target of £500.

It would be truly amazing if the target could be surpassed, and then built upon, as funding is so vital for this brilliant local hospice.

Congratulations to Zakia Khassal on passing her practical driving test at Crawley test centre on Saturday afternoon (22/08/26). It was a great pass with only three driver faults.

I was contacted by Zakia in early June enquiring about an intensive course ahead of a test she had booked at the end of July. Zakia had been taking lessons with another local instructor, but was unable to get the extra hours booked in she needed to get to test standard and didn’t want to delay the test that was booked.

After an initial assessment we agreed to do a 20 hour intensive course over five days in July leading up to her test. Unfortunately Zakia didn’t get the result she wanted on that test, but with some perseverance with the DVSA’s booking system she was able to find a test for less than a month later. This meant that we only needed to do a couple of refresher lessons between tests, with Zakia also going out for some private practice with her father. Thanks also to Raj Purba for the ground work he did before Zakia’s intensive course.

Well done Zakia, it was great to hear the result when the examiner told you that you had passed, along with the positive feedback you received. You came so close on your first attempt and then smashed it this time.

Enjoy the freedom your car now gives you and take care at university. When you take that first solo drive, remember what you have learnt and keep safe.
