The Land Rover Td5 is an iconic, in-house developed 5-cylinder diesel engine built from 1998 to 2007. Although it is often misunderstood as a BMW or Ford unit, the engine was a pure Rover design known for incredible reliability, off-road intelligence, and being easily tunable. Arguably, one of the best off-road engines ever built.

In 1974, Emerson Fittipaldi won the Formula One world championship driving for McLaren. This was the second and last championship victory for the Brazilian after success in 1972 driving for Lotus. However, the 1974 championship was McLaren’s first title, sparking an illustrious history in Formula One. And the gauges in the McLaren that Fittipaldi looked at as he sped around the global F1 tracks had been made by Smiths.

It is very exciting to announce details of a special new project. CAI are thrilled to have been commissioned to design the gauges for the new Testadoro Siluro 2 Litri, a hand-crafted sports car that revives the ultra-lightweight, aerodynamic "siluro" (torpedo) racing aesthetic of the 1940s and 1950s. The brief was to design a set of gauges that would complement the minimalist dashboard. Our engineering team worked closely with the Testadoro team on the design and functionality. It has been a special project for everyone involved.

Happy 50th anniversary to the Lotus Esprit. The sports car with the iconic wedge design from legendary Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro. The Esprit's sharp, geometric lines were completely radical compared to the curvy sports cars of the 1970s.
