We’re excited to welcome the new BMW F 450 GS to the fleet at Off-Road Skills! 🏍️🔥

We’ll have bikes available to book on courses from July. Be quick and get yourself booked on, and be one of the first to try the bike at the Off Road Skills playground, Walters Arena.

We’ve already had the chance to get it out on the trails, and we’re happy to report that it’s every bit as good off-road as we had hoped ✅

The engine is incredibly smooth and easy to ride off the bottom, then it just keeps pulling and pulling as to go up through the rev range.

Whether you’re picking your way through tight, twisty off-road terrain or navigating an urban environment, the bike feels nimble, confidence-inspiring and effortless to ride at slow speed.

The ERC clutch has been a real surprise and comes into its own in wet, slippery ruts, allowing you to focus on your line choice and smooth throttle control. It adds another level of control, exactly when you need it most. We also found it pretty handy when stopping and starting at those inevitable gates along the trail. 😉

What really stands out is how much the bike feels like the bigger GS's in the range. From the riding position, everything feels familiar. The dash & switch gears are intuitive, with the functionality we’ve all come to expect from the GS range. The brakes are powerful with a nice feel. Even the Enduro footpegs are a welcomed touch as standard.

📍The R12 G/S Ride days will be a 1 day loop ride from out base in South Wales, taking in some of South Wales most scenic small roads, light trails and some great coffee stops.

This isn’t a full training course, and it’s not designed to overload you with information. Instead, it’s a relaxed, supportive introduction to off-road riding with Off Road Skills.

Spend some time with our team, get familiar with the bikes, understand the training environment, and meet the people who’ll be guiding you on your off-road journey.

Ask questions, build confidence, and get a feel for what to expect, all in a calm, pressure-free setting. Sometimes, a little extra time and understanding can make all the difference.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to attend the BMW F 450 GS Product Launch Training at BMW Motorrad - and even better, we got to ride it and take one away with us 😉

We were seriously impressed by this exciting new adventure bike. From its agile handling chassis, super powerful brakes, to its confidence-inspiring engine, the F 450 GS is an incredible machine that’s fits perfectly in the lineup next to its bigger siblings. When sat on the bike it feels like any other GS. Its sure to turn heads both on and off the road.

We’re even more excited because in just under two weeks, we’ll be running test rides at the Adventure Bike Festival, giving customers the chance to experience this amazing new bike for themselves.

If you’re heading to the festival, make sure you come and see us on the BMW Motorrad stand early to ensure you get a booking to take the BMW F 450 GS out for a test ride, and discover what makes it such a standout addition to the BMW Motorrad range and the small Adventure Bike segment.

We’re excited to announce the appointment of Gareth Edmunds as our new Off Road Skills Managing Director.

Gareth’s relationship with Off Road Skills goes back many years, including working alongside Simon Pavey during two Dakar campaigns. His experience, professionalism and understanding of what makes Off Road Skills special make him ideally placed to lead the business into its next chapter.

Simon Pavey, founder of Off Road Skills, will remain actively involved as Chief Instructor, focusing on the training curriculum, adventure rides and the customer experiences that sit at the heart of everything we do.
