Oakdale Garage is looking for an organised and proactive Technician / Workshop Controller to oversee the daily operations of our busy workshop.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced automotive environment.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
✅ Allocate work efficiently to technicians and monitor progress throughout the day
✅ Ensure workshop jobs are completed on time and to a high standard
✅ Manage workshop productivity and maximise utilisation
✅ Liaise with service advisors, parts departments, and customers when required
✅ Monitor repair quality and ensure compliance with health & safety standards
✅ Provide technical guidance and support to technicians
✅ Ensure accurate completion of job cards and workshop documentation
✅ Maintain strong communication across departments for smooth operations
✔️ Requirements
• MOT Tester qualification
• Strong organisational and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Good technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure
• Experience with workshop management systems (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence
