The VW Bug Barn, Kegworth

A road trip to Sheffield started the day off for Mark, Steve and I. We took a couple of engine cases upto the Bolwagen boys Andy and Steve to be line bored. Its was a pleasure as always to see them. The quality of their work is outstanding.
In our absence Pat had opened up the barn and was removing the front valance on his T25.
Ian, Steve and I put some of the racking up in the container. Damon supervised from a distance. It has tidied up the space and made it easier to find parts. A big thank you to Mark Munn who very kindly donated the racking to the barn.

A super busy Saturday at the Barn.

A "Little Bastard" was waiting for me when I got to the Barn. It's owner Damian was sat in it.
Tim and Adam arrived and continued welding in the new panels on the Beetle.
Mark cleaned up some of the welding I had done on his Bay.
Paul came down in his new purchase, a lovely looking Beetle.
Darren had two knackered front tyres on his Bay due to poor tracking. We had two good used tyres so Damon and I swopped them over.
Adam put his Fiesta on the ramp to do a pre Mot check.
Steve rode down on his bike and did what he does best, great banter and making people laugh.
Pat is doggedly attacking the rust on his T25. Lots of new panels going in.
Jon brought the Nascar back after racing at Brands Hatch.
The Red Arrows came in and landed at East Midlands Airport again. Great to see them close up.
The two Kev's were in and it was great to see them.
Damon and I checked over the brakes on my Bay as they were binding. A clean up and backing them off sorted the issue.

Brands Hatch pt2

The Barn has been really busy recently.
Jon, Damon and I headed down to Brands Hatch with the Nascar. 3 days of petrol heads, muscle cars and racing. The weather didn't always play ball but we had a great time and made new friends.

A busy day at the barn, Steve was up to remove his seats out of his beetle as he was taking them to be sympathetically repaired, Tim managed to secure the rear base and back piece after a lot of fettling and massaging into place ready to weld into place on his next visit, Mark and Jeff carried on repairing the rear of the t2, Pat dropped in to look at the progress on his t25 and Kev and Paula came up to measure what spacers were needed for her t5 to put the newly refurbished wheels on and I made some coffee’s and generally helped if it was needed

A great 1st day with the Nascar at Brands Hatch. Damon and I are the grease monkeys for Jon. Looking forward to watching the races tomorrow.
