With all the horror stories of wet belts, we continue to offer replacement services for them. We replace them weekly whether it be from the 1.0 Ecoboost, 2.0 Ecoblue, 1.2 Puretech and all of the others.

These wet belt can fail at any time. We have replaced them a month out of warranty with a dealership service history and only 12,000 miles on the clock.

The wet belt failing starts with it delaminating/breaking up, which gets pulled into strainer in the sump. This then causes the strainer to gradually block which leads to oil starvation. When this fault isn’t caught on time it can be terminal for the engine. So if you have any oil pressure faults or any concerns, give us a phone to book in.

With every wet belt we replace, we use a Forte Advanced Motor Flush to help clean out any of the contamination before stripping the engine to replace the wet belt. All strainers are cleaner, if not replaced. Gauzes that are present will be cleaned also. Full wet belt kit will be replaced with the correct oil.

Upon replacement, we require to keep the vehicle overnight to allow any sealer to dry when required.

✅✅✅ Cabin Filter Replacement ✅✅✅

When was the last time you changed your cabin filter?
The cabin filter seems to be “forgotten filter” and sometimes customers opt out when asked about replacing during a service.

Today as part of a service we replaced the cabin filter in this vehicle. As you can see the comparison between the old and new is night and day.

We regularly replace the cabin filters as part of vehicles services or if requested when carrying out Air Conditioning.

Why change it?
- Breathe cleaner air, the filter clogs up with all unwanted dust and substances.
- Limit chances of triggering allergies.
- Less stress on heating and air con components.
- Less moisture build up.

How often?
It’s usually recommended every 12-18 months but does vary.

If you are needing a last minute Mot today, give us a call as we might be able to squeeze you in!

Just a few of the jobs carried out yesterday as we bring the week to a close.

Iveco came in for a rear differential oil change. Unfortunately the cover plate was corroded and couldn’t risk it leaking. With customers approval we replaced the cover and fresh oil used.

We then had a Volkswagen Jetta with an unwanted noise and coolant leak. We found this to be the water pump. Replacement water pump fitted and fresh coolant used.

Another vehicle with an unwanted noise was a Skoda that had a grind from the rear. We found the caliper had seized on and took the pads down to the metal. Brand new rear pads and discs plus a caliper. This fixed the noise and vehicle was back to the customer.

We are happy to announce you can now book or enquire through WhatsApp for both garages.

We understand when life’s busy it’s not always easy to find time to call in to the garage. Maybe no signal at the times, think of something at night but forget by morning or even our phone lines might be engaged when receiving high level of calls. That’s why we have added WhatsApp to help.

When messaging to try limit delays if you can try give us plenty information. For example :

- Vehicle make and model
- Vehicle Registration.
- Service you want to book/ Your enquiry
- When you want to be booked in if known.

These details would save a lot of back and forth and speed up your booking/enquiry. We may want to speak to you over the phone for some enquires also.

✅✅✅ Ford Ranger 2.0 Ecoblue ✅✅✅
🚨🚨🚨 Wet Belt Replacmeent 🚨🚨🚨

Yesterday we had this 2020 Ford Ranger 2.0 Ecoblue in at the garage for a wet belt replacement. With the belt being due and customer hearing horror stories about failures, they knew it was time for the change.

Before the vehicle was put on the ramp, the first part of the job is to run a Forte Advanced Motor Flush. This is the best way to clean the engine internally and helps clear up any of the wet belt fragments that may be there.

We then continued with the job which included removing the timing cover and the sump for the belt replacement. Along the way the steering rack, osf hub, driveshaft, radiator cowling and many more components needed to be removed.
After the wet belt, tensioner, oil pick up and the oil pump belt were replaced. The sump and timing cover are sealed back to the engine and all components removed are then refitted.
We keep the vehicle overnight to make sure the sealer is fully cured.

🚨Have a noise coming from your car that shouldn’t be there?

Today we had a car presented to us with a loud noise from the front of the car.

The customer wanted it checked and we are glad it was caught in time. Upon inspection it was found the brake disc had sheered in half and would have been a major safety risk. New brake pads and discs were fitted and vehicle was back on the road safe.

✅✅✅ Audi Clutch & Flywheel Replacement ✅✅✅

Yesterday we had this Audi presented us for an Mot test but was asked to check a rattle coming from the vehicle.

It was noted that the flywheel was at fault and the customer wanted us to carry out the repairs.

Yesterday afternoon we had the gearbox removed and new flywheel, clutch and slave cylinder fitted.

This morning the car is being built back up to return to customer.
