A massive congratulations to REBECCA, who absolutely smashed her driving test today with just 2 DRIVING FAULTS! 🏆🚗

What an outstanding result, young lady! 👏👏

Now, this is one of those passes that makes all the hours of coaching so worthwhile! ❤️

Rebecca’s dad first contacted me because she was about to embark on her nursing career, and being able to drive would make a massive difference when travelling to and from her placements. 👩‍⚕️

So we had a goal, and Rebecca got straight to work!

From our very first lesson, I could see that Rebecca had a fantastic attitude towards learning. She listened, took everything on board and consistently improved week after week.

And here’s the thing… she was progressing so well that I genuinely couldn’t see any reason for her to wait for her original test date! 😂

So we managed to get her test swapped to OVER A MONTH EARLIER! 😳🚗

And today?

BOOM!! 💥💥

PASSED WITH JUST 2 DRIVING FAULTS! 🎉🏆

You’ve been an absolute first-class student from start to finish. Your attitude, determination and willingness to learn have been fantastic, and it’s been a real pleasure coaching you.

🚨 BREAK THE SCALE FAMILY—WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR WEE PEANUT! 🐾❤️

​Today we are putting the driving posts on pause for something much more important.
​One of our absolute gem pupils is going through an unimaginable nightmare right now. She is disabled, lives on a fixed low income , and has no local family nearby to lean on. her 10-month-old Chihuahua, Peanut, is her absolute world and constant companion.

​Tomorrow morning, tiny Peanut is going in for critical, life-saving spinal surgery at the specialist university hospital for Atlantoaxial Luxation (where the first two vertebrae in his neck are compressing his spinal cord). He is already partially paralysed, and this operation is his only lifeline
​Here is the reality she is facing:
​The specialist surgery and hospital care alone are already sitting at £7,000+, before post-op rehab, specialist imaging, mobility aids/wheelchair, and constant emergency transport back and forth (as she doesn't have her licence yet).

​She did the right thing and insured Peanut, but her policy maxes out at £5,000, leaving a massive gap of over £2,000+ that she simply cannot cover on her own after already spending hundreds on emergency out-of-hours vets.

​Tonight she was in visiting Peanut in hospital to sign the high-risk surgical consent forms. At just 10 months old, this wee boy has his whole life ahead of him.

​We have a massive community on this page across Lanarkshire, Glasgow, and most of central scotland and the boarders. If every person who sees this even chips in the price of a coffee or hits the SHARE button we can take this financial terror off her shoulders while Peanut fights through surgery tomorrow morning.

What can we say Katy McGowan what a whirlwind of a day. Picking up a cancellation today with only 3 hours to play with. A well deserved first time pass with only 1 minor fault in Newton Stewart. Been a pleasure from start to finish. Happy and safe driving

⚠️ YELLOW WEATHER WARNING: We are taking on driving pupils, NOT boat captains! 🚤🌧️
​Okay, the flooded street photo might be a little dramatic... OR IS IT?! Given how much rain is battering Lanarkshire right now under the Yellow Weather Warning, half the roads out there aren't looking far off this!
​Whether you are out on a lesson today, practicing in your own car, or commuting to work, please don't let the Scottish weather catch you out.
​5 Golden Rules for Driving in Heavy Rain & Floods:
1️⃣ Double Your Stopping Distance: In wet weather, the 2-second rule becomes the 4-second rule. Leave at least twice as much space between you and the car in front!
2️⃣ Don't Drown Your Engine: If standing water looks deeper than 10cm (4 inches) or covers the kerb edge, DO NOT risk driving through it. Just 30cm of moving water can float a car, and one gulp of water into your air intake will hydro-lock and destroy your engine!
3️⃣ Dipped Headlights ON: Don't rely on daytime running lights (DRLs) they often don't turn your rear tail lights on in heavy spray! Switch your dipped headlights on manually so people behind can see you.
4️⃣ How to Handle Aquaplaning: If the steering suddenly feels super light and disconnected on a puddle, DO NOT slam the brakes or yank the wheel. Ease gently off the accelerator, hold the steering wheel straight and firm, and wait for the tyres to grip the tarmac again.
5️⃣ Clear Your Glass FIRST: Before you even release the handbrake, crank the demisters and AC until your windscreen and side windows are 100% clear.
