Congratulations to Gabriel Sinnott I’m passing your driving test first time this morning in Bury St Edmunds. Gaining a full category B driving license which gives you access to all category B vehicles manual and automatic.
It has been an absolutely amazing pleasure working with this young man to help him gain he’s driving license. He’s dedication hard work he has put everything you possibly could ever wish for into getting this license.

🚛☀️ Summer Driving Warning Issued to Motorists

As the weather improves, police reminded drivers that some everyday habits can still land them in trouble on the road ⚠️

Wearing flip-flops isn’t illegal, but if footwear prevents proper control of the vehicle, drivers could be prosecuted for careless driving 👣

Eating or drinking behind the wheel can also be classed as careless driving if it affects concentration 🍦

Some hay fever tablets (antihistamines) may cause drowsiness. If a driver is impaired, they could face the same penalties as drug driving 🚫💊

Other reminders included:

Using a phone while driving (even for sat nav if not properly mounted) can result in a £200 fine and 6 points 📱

Driving with a dirty or obscured number plate can lead to a fine of up to £1,000 🔍

Wearing sunglasses at night or blasting loud music isn’t illegal, but could contribute to careless driving if it affects awareness 😎🔊

Police stressed that while summer driving may feel more relaxed, drivers are still expected to stay fully in control and focused at all times ✅

🚨 Important changes to driving test booking rules are coming.

From 31 March 2026, learner drivers and approved driving instructors (ADIs) will only be able to make 2 changes to a driving test booking.

A change includes:
- changing the date or time
- changing the test centre
- swapping a test between 2 learners

This is part of the outcome of our consultation to improve the way driving tests are booked.

Taking a few minutes to carry out basic vehicle checks can greatly improve safety for all road users.

Ensure the following checks are completed regularly:

✅ Tyres - Check tyre pressure weekly and before longer journeys.
✅Fluid levels - Make sure oil, coolant, and screen wash are topped up.
✅Lights - Make sure all lights are clean, working, and properly adjusted.
✅Windscreen and windows - Clean windows helps you see clearly and avoid hazards.

📢 The rules for booking a practical car driving test are changing.

From 31 March 2026, learner drivers and approved driving instructors (ADIs) will only be able to change a driving test booking up to 2 times.

A change includes:
- changing the date or time
- changing the test centre
- swapping an appointment with another learner

If you’re an ADI, please make sure your pupils only book their test when they’re ready as swapping between pupils will count towards this limit. You can set times when you're available to take your pupils to their driving tests. This stops your pupils from booking tests at times that do not work for you.

👉 When this comes into force, everyone with a driving test booked will have 2 changes available, regardless of how many changes they may have already made.

This change is part of the outcome of our consultation to improve the way driving tests are booked.
