🚗 Young driver? Check your tyres.

TyreSafe have launched a campaign this September to remind young drivers that just two illegal tyres could be enough to cost them their licence, even if they don’t own the car.

Ask them to take a minute to remember ACT:
✔ Air pressure
✔ Condition
✔ Tread

Safe tyres help keep you legal, protect other road users and could save you from costly fines and penalty points.

With harvest season under way, you're more likely to come across tractors and other slow-moving farm vehicles on rural roads. 🌳

A few things worth remembering: tractors can be wider than they look, drivers may have limited visibility and these vehicles need more time and space to manoeuvre. 🚜

Only overtake when you can see the road ahead is clear, never on a bend or the brow of a hill, be prepared to slow down and wait if there's nowhere safe to pass. ✅

The Highway Code sets out guidance on driving near road users that require extra care (rules 204 to 225), including farm vehicles. It's worth a refresher before your next rural journey. 👉 https://ow.ly/cG5t50ZvN9E

Heading on a long car journey this summer?

Remember to do your T.R.I.P. checks:

⛽ Top-up: Oil, fuel, or electric vehicle battery
🛌 Rest: Make sure the learner is well rested and plan a break at least every 2 hours
🔍 Inspect: Check tyre pressure, tread, and overall condition
🌦 Prepare: Be ready for changing weather and road conditions

Building these checks into every journey helps learners stay safe, confident, and ready for the road. ✅
