Well. Here we are again. Cummins had maintenance done and part of that was fuel filters. Afterwards the truck would start and die. Truck was brought to us. Quick diagnosis and we found the engine side fuel filter inner seal that seals to the stand pipe was rolled allowing fuel to return to the tank.

2020 GMC in for shifting issues after a trans was installed at another shop. Not knowing what was all done at the other shop. We started by pulling the pan, saved all the old fluid, and read the PUN number off the valve body. Upon pan reinstall we found the trans was 3 quarts low on fluid. Programmed the PUN number into the tcm and road tested it. What a difference. From there we changed out the tcm tuning he had to something we know works well.

This seems to be a running scenario around here working on trucks that were just recently worked on elsewhere.

10L1000 doing 10L things. Came in for a limp mode issue. Found transmission codes that leaned to a hurt trans and not just a valve body issue. Upon pan removal. We found a filter pull of clutch material and a ton a metal in the fluid. Time for a fresh gear box.

These transmissions along with the Ford 10R140 really should have fluid and filters every 50k miles.

6.7 Powerstroke came in with a failed cp4 pump. This truck had an older S&S bypass kit on it. You can see all the metal that it collected and yup, it did the job they advertise. No fuel injector or rail replacement. New DCR pump and back on the road!

If you wanna add the protection of saving the rest of your fuel system in the event that your high pressure pump fails in your 6.7 Powerstroke. Shoot us a call. We keep the bypass kits on hand!

2012 GMC in for a limp mode, power reduced issue with no codes. Upon diagnosing we found APPS sensor 2 voltage would drop off. Found another shop had replace the pedal assembly and ran 6 new wires from the pedal to the ecm. That didn’t fix the issue. With more digging we found the MAP sensor shares 5 volt reference 3 inside the ecm with the APPS. Doesn’t share a single wire, but does share the same reference from the circuit board. Come to find an aftermarket MAP sensor had been installed. Swapped it with an OEM one and all issues went away. Knowing how to read a schematic is crucial in doing a proper diagnosis.
