Deuser Claims Pro Late Model 100 During Two-Day Bass Tire Family Night at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — What began under the lights Saturday night and concluded beneath the Sunday afternoon sun turned into a memorable two-day edition of Bass Tire Family Night at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, with eight feature winners crowned across the historic quarter-mile and 5/8-mile ovals.

Saturday’s program opened with a strong field of more than 20 CP Race Wear Bandoleros, and once again it was Lucas Harrison showing the way. Several cautions slowed the early portion of the race, but Harrison remained in command and drove the No. 1H to his third Nashville feature victory in four starts this season. Carter Clapp finished second, followed by Brantley Emberton, Jordan Bauer and Jedrek Sindler.

The Pest Doctor Front Runners were next, where Smyrna, Tennessee’s Brett Lee continued a perfect start to his Nashville season. Lee led flag-to-flag and captured his fourth victory in four starts, remaining unbeaten in the division. Ray Gann finished second with Paul Cummings Sr., Daniel Harper and Justin Martin completing the top five.

The Pro/Masters Legends were on track for the third feature of the evening when rain moved over the speedway. With only a portion of the race completed, officials were forced to halt the action and move the remainder of the program to Sunday afternoon.

Racing resumed Sunday with the final 13 laps of the Pro/Masters Legends feature, and the conclusion provided plenty of drama. A melee erupted in turn four on the final lap, but Kevin Rollins managed to avoid the trouble and race to the victory in the first of six Sunday features.

The Pure Stocks followed with 2025 division champion Phillip McCord returning to Victory Lane. McCord worked his way forward in the 20-lap event before taking the lead on lap nine. From there, the Murfreesboro driver kept the No. 2 out front to secure the win. Jay Jay Williams finished second, followed by Matt Barnes, Robert Forsythe and Elliott Dulworth. Williams run was disallowed due to a tech infraction.

An impressive drive highlighted the Semi-Pro/Young Lion Legends feature as Hendersonville’s Galen Clark charged from fifth to the victory. Clark had already shown his speed by earning top qualifier honors, then steadily picked his way toward the front in the feature. He made the winning move on lap eight and never relinquished the top spot. Dylan Faulkner finished second, Landon Thrasher was third, Jagger Parker fourth and Bradley Swift fifth.

The Limited Late Models produced one of the cleanest races of the weekend, with Jeff Belt putting together a flawless flag-to-flag performance. Belt took command immediately and led all 25 laps as the feature clicked off without a caution. Johnathan Dishman stayed within striking distance and finished just 0.406 seconds behind the winner. Steven Shaw placed third, Nicholas Formosa fourth and Dylan Jones fifth.

Fans were then treated to one of the most entertaining races of the weekend when the Turnkey Autoworks HRA Street Stocks stretched their legs on Nashville’s historic 5/8-mile.

Michael Pannell and Ayden Oliver traded the lead back and forth in a spirited battle at the front of the field, but veteran Sam McCord was patiently watching the fight develop from just behind them.

McCord put himself in position to capitalize and eventually worked his way past both contenders to take control of the 35-lap event.
Once out front, McCord went on to capture the victory, with Pannell finishing second and Oliver third. Shawn Niedert and Beau Mitchell completed the top five.

The weekend concluded with the Steve Bass Tire & Auto Pro Late Model 100, which also served as the second round of the Rogers Dabbs Performance Parts Challenge.

Trey Craig controlled much of the first half after getting by Chase Johnson and carried the lead into the latter stages of the 100-lap event, but a restart on lap 64 proved to be the turning point. Corey Deuser took advantage of the opportunity, powering the No. 14 into the lead.

Once Deuser reached the front, he began putting distance between himself and the competition. He controlled the remainder of the race and drove to a convincing victory in the 100-lap finale.

Craig completed a strong weekend with a runner-up finish, while Brett Robinson crossed the line third. Jackson Boone finished fourth and rookie Conner Popplewell rounded out the top five.

Despite Saturday night’s rain forcing the program into a second day, Bass Tire Family Night ultimately featured a complete slate of racing and a diverse group of winners ranging from dominant championship leaders to veterans and rising young competitors.
