Porter Flea Summer returns with our ticketed Preview Market on Friday, Dec 9th from 6-9pm with our Main Market on Saturday, Dec 110th from 10a-5pm.

will take place indoors at the Nashville Fairgrounds featuring all your favorite Vendors to shop small this holiday season! A collection of Nashville's finest food trucks will be serving up seasonal food and drink options both days alongside local craft brewery, Jackalope.

Nashville’s Porter Flea was launched in July 2011, with a focus on celebrating modern handmade goods. Now in its sixth year, the juried and curated, semi-annual market is led by Katie Vance and her husband, HollerDesign owner Matt Alexander, who continue an emphasis on the handmade art and design movement, local businesses and community building. Along with connecting hundreds of local/regional makers with tens of thousands of shoppers, Porter Flea has earned consistent press praise, including being named Best Artisan Market by the Nashville Scene in 2012, and appearing in Southern Living, Garden & Gun, Native, Forbes Travel Guide, StyleBlueprint and other publications.

Let’s talk about what to do if you don’t get in to Porter Flea Holiday Market:

First, remember it’s not personal. Our jury votes for vendors they believe will make money. We *don’t* make extra profit from vendors staying in the black, we just want y’all to succeed! Every juror has attended Porter Flea at least a dozen times and has developed a deep understanding of our customer base. If you don’t get in, think of it as the jury protecting you from a loss.

More importantly, a rejection doesn’t mean your art or product are bad. It may mean they’re not right for our shoppers; it may mean we had too many applicants in your category and the jury had to make some tough decisions; it may mean that you haven’t found the full expression of your style yet. There’s a lot of variables at play here! These things are all part of the process of being a maker- don’t let them discourage you in the long run!

Finally, it is VERY NORMAL to not get in the first time you apply. We encourage you to come to the market or follow along in stories as we introduce our vendors so you can get a better grasp on what we’re looking for.

And as a reminder, we don’t give priority to makers who apply early. As long as you meet the Sunday deadline, your odds are the same as someone who applied a month ago 👍🏼

Porter Flea was started by and for makers in July 2011. Back then we only had 35 vendors set up in a parking lot, but we grew and grew, and now we’re indoors with heat 💅🏼 showcasing 200+ of the best vendors in the country. Owners Katie Vance (of Powell | Architecture Interiors Construction ) and her husband Matt Alexander are decades-long advocates for the handmade art and design movement. Their goal is always to connect small businesses with thousands of shoppers!
