Safety first for our drivers please!

Flashing lights on the roadside mean one thing: SLOW DOWN and MOVE OVER.

Illinois’ Move Over Law applies to emergency responders, tow and recovery operators, IDOT and tollway personnel, and construction workers no matter the situation. Whether 𝐬̲𝐭̲𝐚̲𝐭̲𝐢̲𝐨̲𝐧̲𝐚̲𝐫̲𝐲̲ 𝐨̲𝐫̲ 𝐧̲𝐨̲𝐭̲, you are required to slow down and move over for authorized emergency vehicles with flashing lights working on the road ahead whether they are 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐭.

You must also slow down and move over for non-emergency vehicles with hazard lights activated.
Keep our roadside workers safe.
