Hybrid vehicle sales surged 36.7 percent year-over-year in 2024, significantly outpacing EV growth. Meanwhile, roughly 22 percent of all light-duty vehicles sold in the U.S. in 2025 were hybrid, battery electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles, with hybrids continuing to gain market share even as some EV sales softened.
