🚗🔧 Airbag Squib (Clock Spring) Replacement on a 2013 Suzuki Swift 🔧🚗

This lovely 2013 Suzuki Swift that we recently sold came back to us after the customer noticed a warning light had appeared on the dashboard.

After booking the vehicle in for a diagnostic check, our technicians carried out a full inspection and quickly identified the fault as a failed airbag squib (clock spring) located behind the steering wheel.

The clock spring is an important component that maintains electrical connections to systems such as:
✅ Driver’s airbag
✅ Horn
✅ Steering wheel controls
✅ Traction and stability control systems on some vehicles

A faulty clock spring can trigger warning lights and affect the operation of these systems, so it’s important to get it checked as soon as possible.

This 2005 Ford Mondeo came in recently for an MOT test.

The old girl failed on 3 tyres, a rear coil spring and a cv boot.

We replaced all of the above however whilst removing the bolt for the spring it snapped which left us in trouble 👿

After 3 hours of drilling and perseverance the hole was clear and ready for the replacement bolt.

Just like that it was now ready to pass its MOT ✅
