⛽ TODAY’S DIESEL UPDATE 😂

Thought I’d treat the van to a nice drink today…

£1.989 a litre. 😳

First pump: £99.00
Van: “Cheers mate, but I’m still thirsty.” 😂

Back in again: another £59.79 💸

£158.79 for 79.83 litres. 🤦‍♂️

At this point I’m not sure whether I’m running a garage or working purely to keep the van hydrated. 😂😂

And people ask why recovery isn’t free from 200 miles away… 👀🤣

🚨 NON-RUNNER… BUT GETTING IT STARTED WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING! 🚨

2013 Audi Q7 3.0 TDI V6 recovered into us with a crank-but-no-start fault.

After some diagnostics, testing and a few trials, we managed to get that V6 fired back into life. 💪

Result? Not quite… 😬

Once it was running, it quickly became clear why this Q7 had been giving its owner trouble — and what was hiding underneath the intake wasn't pretty! 👀🔧

💉 Injectors leaking / over-fuelling
⛽ Fuel rail pressure dropping – causing long cranking, poor starting and eventually the non-start
💧 Coolant leaking into the “V” of the engine
🛢️ Oil leaks around the top of the engine
🤢 And plenty of contamination hiding underneath the intake

So… time to dig in deep. 👀

🔧 Intake system stripped down
💉 Injectors removed and sent away for testing
🔍 Fuel system being checked for pressure loss
💧 Coolant leak being traced to its source
🛢️ Oil leaks being investigated
🧼 Complete intake system getting a thorough clean while everything is apart
🔎 Seals, pipes and components inspected while we have proper access
📦 Replacement parts ordered as required

With a job like this, there's no point replacing the first suspicious part and hoping for the best.

Diagnose it properly. Find the cause. Fix what needs fixing. And while it's stripped this far down, make sure everything else gets the attention it needs. 👌

She's looking a little sorry for herself at the moment… 😂

But that 3.0 TDI V6 will be roaring again soon. 💪💪

And for everyone who thinks we only do EcoBoost and EcoBlue wet belts… 👀😂

Yeah… not quite your usual dry clutch setup this time. 👀

The 6DCT450 is a wet dual-clutch transmission, so replacing the clutch is a little more involved than your conventional clutch job.

But no worries — we can get that sorted too. 👌🔧
