Recently we have attended a Jaguar XF X250 Luxury 2.2L with the issue of vehicle not locking and having a miss lock beep when trying. Also customer had noticed that rear doors didn’t unlock.

We attended the car at the customers address. Carried out a diagnostic test to establish if it was the common door latch issues that JLR vehicles of this age suffer from or something more untoward.

After carrying out the tests it was established that it was the door latches at fault.

Advised customer of vehicle requiring 3 doors

We overnight ordered the latched from Jaguar themselves and fitted them the next day.

All parts directly from Jaguar carry at least a 1 year warranty.

All repairs carried out at the customers address over 2 days.

This afternoon we carried out an oil and filter change on a Range Rover Sport L494 3.0L Autobiography.

Genuine parts used and correct specification Castrol oil as required by JLR.

It’s important to use the correct oil to specification STJLR.03.5005 on these engines.

This afternoon we attended an Jaguar I-Pace

The customer reported the issue of unable to unclock drivers door, boot inop, unable to open drivers rear door, keys in-op and vehicle none start.

We carried out a code read using the latest JLR diagnostic equipment. (Topix Cloud)

Using Topix Cloud we interrogated the vehicle and no communication on the body CAN network with several modules.

No coms with all door modules, KVM and tailgate module.

Manually opened boot to gain access to the KVM.

Carried out wiring checks to KVM to start, found powers and ground all okay. But found incorrect voltages at CAN High and CAN Low. Both high and low are at 1.2V indicating we have an issue with the CAN network to this module.

When we have found the body communication network has a fault has been identified and the non-communicating module(s) power supply has been confirmed, the approximate location of the network failure can be localized by identifying the final module on the network that can communicate via the network, then follow the network wiring downstream to the non-communicating module.

In this instance it’s the occupant monitoring module. This indicates that the issues is occurring downstream of this module.

The wiring after this module is located under the rear seats where it feeds the KVM in the boot.

We removed the rear seats and found the wiring has been chewed by at rat.

We carried out a localised wiring repair and fitted extra protection to ensure the issue can’t occur again.

Advised the customer to set traps and ensure no food is left in the vehicle to avoid rodent damage again.

After the repair we carried out a code clear and a road test to confirm no further faults.

Today we have been carrying out a cam belt and rear fuel pump drive belt replacement on an XJ X351 3.0L diesel.

The customer asked us to carry out a
112,000/7 year service on his vehicle. This service include front and rear drive belt replacements.

All genuine parts used supplied from JLR main dealer carrying a 1 year warranty.

Castrol oil to grade SAE 5W30 STJLR.03.5005

Using the correct timing tools the belts have been replacing in accordance with Topix.

Service history updated on Topix.

All repairs carried out at one of our sites in Tamworth over 2 days. A collection and delivery was carried out from the customers address in the midlands.

This afternoon we attended an Jaguar E-Pace 2.0l Diesel.

The customer reported the issue of park brake fault and unable to release the park brake.

We carried out a code read using JLR diagnostic equipment. (Pathfinder)

Using pathfinder we interrogated the vehicle and found code.

C2006-1B -Left Actuator - Circuit resistance above threshold

Carried out an inspection of the on calliper park brake actuator on the N/S/R. Visually the actuator was all okay so the next step was to carry our wiring checks.

Carried out wiring checks to N/S/R park brake actuator and found open circuit on the white and violet wire.

We removed the wheel arch liner on the N/S/R and visually we were able to see the issue immediately. The arch liner had been rubbing on the wiring loom and causing it to be open to the eliments and causing corrotion.

We carried out a localised wiring repair and fitted extra protection to ensure the issue can’t occur again.

After the repair we carried out a code clear and a road test to confirm no further faults.

All repairs carried out at the customers address in 1 day.

Today we have been rectifying an engine management light and restricted performance on a Jaguar XJ X351 3.0l V6 diesel.

Customer reported issue of restricted performance in red and Yellow engine management light.

We attended the vehicle at the customers address in Birmingham and carried out a code read using JLR diagnostic equipment (SDD)

Carried out code read using SDD. Only one relevant fault code in PCM

P00BF-07 Mass or volume air flow B circuit range/performance - Air flow too high - mechanical failure

On starting and listening to the engine on the vehicle we could tell something wasn’t right (Excessive induction noise) suspecting an air leak the best action now was for a smoke test.

Carried out a smoke test and found evidence of smoke from the front of the engine bay/radiator area. We suspected a failed intercooler.

We removed the rad pack to gain access to the intercooler. On further inspection a crack was found on the inside face of intercooler. A further smoke test of just the intercooler confirmed the initial thought that it was at fault.

After the repair a road test was carried out and confirmed no further faults.

All repairs carried out at the customers address within 3 days.
