Our moorers’ lounge at Great Haywood Marina has had a bit of a makeover! ✨

We’ve condensed our chandlery to make way for a much more inviting and sociable space for our moorers to relax, catch up and spend time together.

With comfy seating, plenty of space to unwind and lovely views straight out across the marina, we hope it’ll become a welcoming spot to enjoy a coffee, have a chat with fellow moorers or simply sit back and watch the boats go by. 🛥️☕

The chandlery is still stocked with all those boating essentials too - just in a more compact space!

We’re really pleased with how it’s turned out and hope our Great Haywood moorers enjoy it. 💙

Keeping skills and safety up to date at Deganwy Marina! ⚓

Simon, Mike and Eamonn have recently completed their hoist refresher and signaller training course, refreshing the skills needed for safe operations at the marina.

The colder weather might not be here just yet, but now’s a good time to get a few jobs ticked off aboard. 🍂

Before the temperatures drop, it’s worth checking:

🔥 Your heating is working as it should
🔋 Batteries are charged and in good condition
❄️ Antifreeze and coolant levels
💧 The water system for any leaks or problems
🌬️ Seals around windows and hatches, plus ventilation to help with condensation

A bit of time spent checking things now could save you discovering a problem on the first properly cold morning!

🍂 Hello, September!🍂

There’s something rather special about cruising at this time of year. The waterways grow a little quieter, mist drifts across the water on cooler mornings and the first hints of autumn begin to appear along the banks.

Look out for hedgerows heavy with blackberries, rosehips and bright red haws; swallows gathering before their long journey south; kingfishers darting across the water; and reeds and trees slowly turning shades of gold.

There may still be plenty of warm sunshine to enjoy, but with shorter days and the occasional autumn shower, remember to pack an extra layer and keep those waterproofs close by!
