Right, I’ve had enough 😂

Winter’s coming and I’m not spending another 6 months crawling around underneath cars in the rain, mud and puddles if it can be avoided 🥴😂

The mobile jobs won’t stop, but I think it’s time to expand the business and go all in 💪🔧

I’m looking for a small unit/workshop to rent around Penrith/Cumbria so I can get cars inside, keep the tools dry and stop freezing my bo****ks off! 😂

🚗 WHEEL BEARING NOISE? DON’T IGNORE IT! 🔧

That humming, droning or rumbling noise that gets louder the faster you drive could be a worn wheel bearing.

A faulty bearing can start off as nothing more than an annoying noise, but as it gets worse it can cause:

Your brakes are one of the most important safety systems on your vehicle, so noticing the symptoms early can save you money — and potentially prevent something much more serious.

🔧 CLUTCH PROBLEMS? DON’T IGNORE THE WARNING SIGNS! 🔧

A clutch can give you plenty of warning before it completely fails — but leave it too long and you could end up stranded and facing a much bigger repair bill.

Some common signs of a failing clutch include:

🔧 Clutch slipping under acceleration
🔧 Difficulty getting into gear
🔧 Grinding or crunching when selecting gears
🔧 Clutch pedal feeling different, heavy or unusually light
🔧 Juddering when pulling away
🔧 Noisy or rattling clutch when pressing the pedal
🔧 Engine revs rising without the vehicle gaining speed

The photo below shows a failed clutch release (thrust) bearing. You can clearly see the condition of the bearing and the damage/wear that can occur when a clutch component starts to fail.

A clutch system is made up of several components, and sometimes replacing just one part isn’t enough. Once the gearbox is removed, we can properly inspect the clutch, pressure plate, release bearing and flywheel and advise you on what actually needs replacing.
