🎒🚗 Back to school means more vehicles on the roads

As children across Northamptonshire head back to school from this week onwards and everyone settles back into their usual routines, our roads become noticeably busier. School runs, commuters, cyclists, pedestrians and other road users are all sharing the roads again, often during the busiest parts of the morning and afternoon.

It’s a good reminder for all of us to take a little extra care behind the wheel 👇

🚦 Slow down around schools and residential areas – give yourself plenty of time to react to children crossing, parked cars, and unexpected movements.

🚸 Look out for pedestrians and cyclists – particularly around school entrances, crossings, and junctions.

📱 Put the phone away – even a moment of distraction can have serious consequences.

↔️ Keep a safe distance – allow extra stopping distance and avoid following too closely.

🌧️ Be prepared for changing conditions – as we move towards autumn, darker mornings, rain and wet roads can all affect visibility and stopping distances.

🛞 Make sure your vehicle is roadworthy – check your tyres, lights, brakes, wipers and fluid levels regularly, and keep up with your servicing and maintenance. Our sister company CVS would be more than happy to help with this

This time last year, our former Tesla apprentice, and now fully fledged MET N**s was eagerly awaiting the results of the National Body Repair Association NBRA UK Bodyshops Greener Bodyshop 2025 Awards.

Attending the finalist ceremony alongside our Bodyshop Manager, Stuart White, at the Coventry Building Society Arena, she was absolutely delighted to take home the much-coveted Bob Linwood Greener Apprentice Award. 🏆

Fast forward a year... N**s has continued to build on that success, expanding her knowledge and skills while working on an ever-broader range of hybrid and electric vehicles. And there’s plenty more to come. She’s already gaining experience with new EV brands, including BYD, which we're hoping to soon welcome under our growing banner of manufacturer approvals. We couldn't be prouder! ⚡

We'd like to wish everyone attending the 2026 Awards the very best of luck, and here is to supporting the up-and-coming champions of our industry and to play our part in helping the next generation of automotive talent develop their skills, knowledge, and careers.

It’s time to say a fond farewell to Levi! 👋

From apprentice to fully qualified Paint Refinisher, Levi has been a valued member of the team, and we’ve loved watching him grow and develop his skills over the years.

Now, he’s taking his career by the reins and swapping the bodyshop for the farrier’s forge as he follows his dream of working with horses 🐴🔨

We’re incredibly proud of everything Levi has achieved during his time with us and wish him all the very best of luck and success in this exciting new chapter as he trots off into the sunset.

We’ll definitely miss him around the bodyshop, but we’re sure he will nail this new challenge.

And finally… sorry for all the lame jokes over the years but would have been rude not to shoehorn in at least another pun or two
