🚛💥 FROM MAJOR ENGINE FAILURE TO BACK ON THE ROAD! 💥🚛

This 2021 Peugeot Boxer beavertail recovery truck arrived at our workshop after suffering a catastrophic timing failure.

Despite having a timing belt replacement just 15,000 miles ago, the water pump impeller fins failed, causing the pump to seize in the engine block. This resulted in the timing belt stripping teeth, the engine timing jumping, and significant internal damage including bent valves and damaged rocker arms.

🔍 After a full inspection, the most reliable solution was clear.

🔧🚗 A Few Jobs From Today at Bosch Car Service Livingston 🚗🔧

It's been another productive day in the workshop!

✅ A Mercedes EQB was in with us for its MOT and an investigation into a squeaking noise from the suspension.

✅ A Ford Transit visited for its Class 7 MOT, ensuring it's roadworthy and ready for work.

✅ Good progress has also been made on a Peugeot Boxer project. The replacement engine has arrived, and our technicians have begun transferring components and preparing everything needed to get this vehicle back up and running.

🚗🔧 2016 Mercedes E63 in the workshop!

The customer brought their vehicle to us with an air suspension fault. The offside rear (OSR) suspension was dropping, causing the wheel to rub against the inside of the wheel arch.

Our technicians carried out a thorough inspection of the air suspension system and associated pipework.

🔍 Diagnosis:
❌ Pin-hole leak found in the air line running from the valve block to the OSR air spring
❌ Loss of air pressure causing the rear suspension to drop

To rectify the issue, we fitted:

✅ Genuine Mercedes-Benz air suspension pipe
✅ Genuine Mercedes-Benz fittings

Following installation, the system was thoroughly tested to ensure there were no leaks and that the air suspension was operating correctly.

✔️ Air suspension functioning as it should
✔️ Ride height restored
✔️ Vehicle tested and ready for collection

🚐⚡ 2017 Vauxhall Vivaro in the workshop!

The customer brought their vehicle to us after receiving an alarming warning message on the dashboard:

⚠️ “Electrical Malfunction – Stop Vehicle Now!”

Our technicians carried out a full battery and alternator test to diagnose the fault.

🔍 Results:
❌ Alternator test failed
❌ Warning message reappeared during the fast idle test
❌ Alternator was only charging at 12 volts, well below the required charging voltage

To resolve the issue, we fitted:

✅ New alternator
✅ New auxiliary belt

Following repairs, the charging system was retested and is now operating correctly.

🚗🔧 2011 Volvo C30 in the workshop today!

The customer came to us with a knocking noise from the rear of the vehicle and reported that it felt unstable when cornering.

After carrying out our inspection, we found the offside rear (OSR) shock absorber top mount had failed, causing the noise and affecting the vehicle’s handling.

The customer has requested both rear top mounts to be replaced to ensure the suspension is operating correctly and safely.
