A leak on the driveway? Getting the diagnosis right makes all the difference.

After the owner of this Mercedes-Benz Sprinter reported an oil leak, Hristo investigated the issue and referred to a Mercedes-Benz technical bulletin, which specified that both the high-pressure fuel pump and its seal needed replacing.

Access to manufacturer technical information helps us identify the correct repair from the outset. Replacing only the seal could leave the underlying issue unresolved. Hristo used a genuine Mercedes-Benz specialist tool to help carry out the full repair in line with the manufacturer's guidance.

Myth: You should change your brake pads with every oil change.

Brake pads are replaced when required, not automatically at every oil change. At around 3mm, they may still be working well from a servicing perspective, but they’re getting low and should be monitored closely.

The general MOT minimum is 1.5mm of friction material. By that point, the pads are at the legal limit, so it’s important to identify wear before they reach it.
