We're thrilled to have 25 new apprentices starting across the business. They've got a busy first week ahead as they settle in, learn about the organisation and get to know their new teams.

A visit with a difference! We really enjoyed hosting Stark UK and hearing the operators' thoughts and opinions. Always a pleasure to meet passionate drivers

Recently, 15 drivers from Stark Building Materials UK visited Leyland Trucks, the UK home of DAF truck manufacturing, to take part in a 'Vehicle of the Future' workshop focused on the needs of operators in the building materials sector. 👷🏗️

From cab ergonomics and vehicle controls to drop-side body and crane design, the session gave drivers the opportunity to share first-hand feedback from their day-to-day experiences.

Listening to drivers has always been an important part of how we develop our vehicles. Thank you to everyone from STARK UK who shared their expertise and valuable feedback on the day. 🙏

🎉 Congratulations to Alex-Kaye Harwood, our 2026 Syd Zinga Apprentice of the Year!

Presented annually in memory of our colleague Syd Zinga, the award recognises apprentices who have made an exceptional contribution throughout the year.

Alex, a 4th year Design Engineer apprentice, was recognised for her "outstanding engineering contribution through innovative design solutions, specialist CFD expertise and leadership of key testing activities."

With a record number of nominations received from across the whole business this year, the standard was incredibly high. As a result, we were also proud to introduce a Highly Commended Award, presented to Louie Skerrit for excelling in complex electrical and maintenance projects while achieving outstanding academic results. Louie is a 3rd year apprentice within the Facilities & Maintenance team.

Congratulations to Alex, Louie and all of this year's nominees on their fantastic achievements. 👏

We're proud to announce that our Assembly Operative Apprenticeship Programme has received a Princess Royal Training Award from HRH The Princess Royal and the City & Guilds Foundation.

Created to tackle the growing skills gap in manufacturing, the programme has delivered outstanding results since 2017:

We're incredibly proud to announce that Leyland Trucks has been awarded Gold Status in the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).

This recognition reflects our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community, from reservists and veterans within our workforce to cadets and adult volunteers in our local community.

Over the past year, we've been proud to:

LOST PROPERTY APPEAL – OWNER WANTED! 🐰
Following our Family Fun Day, this little pink bunny was found all alone on the field and handed into Lost Property.

While it's enjoyed a well-earned rest after a fun-filled day, it's now hoping to be reunited with its owner. 💗

So far, nobody has come forward to claim this floppy-eared friend. Do you recognise this pink bunny? If so, please get in touch with us so we can arrange a reunion 😊
