The pass streak continued today on the sunny streets of Chorley and this time it was Sam who secured a full driving licence!

Sam, the mechatronic engineer (nope, me neither!!) precision planned his drive, powered through the national speed limits near Charnock Richard and the end effector was a first-time pass! (Google was my friend for sure today!)

Huge congratulations to Sam, I wish you many happy years of driving!

It’s summer(ish) and it’s time for the cricketers of the world to come out of their winter slumber.

Today’s first-time test pass is just in time for Dan to partake not only in upcoming cricket matches, but also take job that’s a 20+ minute drive from home. A job that starts next week, for which he didn’t have any way of getting there! Howzat for confidence in yourself!

It’s been a pleasure, Daniel, all the best with your new job and - of course - your new freedom to drive!

7:03am tests aren’t exactly joyous for the average young adult as it involves being awake and on the road by 6am.

However, this one is made of sterner stuff! Step forward drama student, Thomas who barely had any backstage nerves, performed brilliantly on test (with barely a fault!) and brought the curtain down on his learner driver status - securing his full licence before many people had even woken up!

Massive congratulations to you Thomas! The roads of leyland have a great new driver to test how deep the potholes are! 👌

Safe driving!

It's been over a month since the last test and today reminded me of what I've been missing - a confident pass!

This time, it was Evie's turn - the drama student with a big interest in construction...not something that's typed often! Regardless, she absolutely nailed her drive, using the foundations learned with me and clearly displaying nerves of steel!

Now Evie has her licence, there's mortar come, with new jobs created ferrying around friends and family...starting this very afternoon, taking her boyfriend to pool.

Massive congratulations, Evie! See you on this road as soon as this afternoon! 🚗

It certainly wasn’t a Les MisĂ©rables morning in Preston today! Passionate musical theatre lover, Holly, took to the streets to prove she had what it takes.

And what a Wicked drive it was! Holly flew round the route like Grease lighting, passing first-time with only one fault! Mamma Mia!

She already has her car ready to go, so you’ll be seeing her soon on the roads of Leyland.

Fittingly, it would be remiss of me to not take this opportunity to remind ALL new drivers that you start with Six points on your licence for the first two years of driving, so don’t turn your amazing achievement into a (Rocky) Horror Show with speeding or mobile phone use!

It’s been a pleasure Holly, safe driving!

I’m not going to write an essay for this pass. All I’m going to do is quote Isaac’s exact words, stated just before the test in Chorley this afternoon. “All I’ve got to do, is look cute, bubbly and not at all like a thug for the next 40 minutes.“

Hate to break it to you pal, but they’re looking for safe, progressive and not at all ‘boy-racer’. And on that one, you excelled, securing a first-time pass with barely a fault.

Huge congratulations to you
 see you on the road!

Sunday mornings: A lie in? Full English? Catch up with the news? Not today. Harley was up bright and early to secure his driving licence and he did it in style.

The trainee plumber made light work of his driving test this morning, with barely a fault driving the streets of Preston, deservedly passing, earning much praise from the examiner.

In a moment of great timing, as
Harley arrived back, a worship group in a nearby building were belting out the primary school banger, ‘Give me joy in my heart’

The most apt song to end a perfect morning!

Congratulations, Harley! Now you can come and fix my leaky radiator! 😉

The last thing you ever want is a breakdown, or to get stuck in traffic for an extended period, such as last Wednesday, when one of my clients and I were stuck on the M61 for a few hours after an accident caused a closure whilst on a motorway lesson. However, I was prepared!

Those of you who have had driving lessons with the Driving Force School of Motoring will know that asking to put your coat or bag in the boot is a pointless exercise! Yes, the i10 boot is small, but it is the vast contents of the boot that is the actual problem.

So what is in my boot? As I am on the road all of the time, I try and prepare for every eventuality. What you choose to put in your boot will often reflect how much and what type of driving you do.

It's worth regularly thinking about just what you have in your boot for those unwanted circumstances of a breakdown or being stuck in traffic for an extended period.

Here’s a useful list of items to consider:

For the Tyres:
Tyre repair kit https://amzn.to/4s9K6DE
Tyre pump https://amzn.to/4rOE0sO
Tread depth gauge https://amzn.to/4tZBRvL

For the weather:

Blanket https://amzn.to/3OR1NJL
Deicer spray https://amzn.to/4aFQ0qi
Ice scraper https://amzn.to/4u0KSVb
Umbrella https://amzn.to/40wAnvo

For a breakdown:
Bottle of water
Snacks (dried fruit, nuts and Pringles are all long life)
Power bank / charging cable https://amzn.to/4cU2Fr3
Warning triangle https://amzn.to/4s101op
Small fire extinguisher https://amzn.to/402oHQR
Wind up torch https://amzn.to/3MXkY41
Hi-viz vest/jacket https://amzn.to/4cl7CJq

Health & Wellbeing:
Paracetamol
First Aid Kit https://amzn.to/4r2LN4W

Why not have a look in your boot
 are you winter/breakdown ready?

Conversations that I have onto the way to a test centre vary. One of today’s conversations was about an upcoming media assignment
one in which the task was to create a one minute horror movie.

However, come the time of the test, it was clear that there was going to be no horror movie being created today and instead one of those movies with a beautiful ending! With that in mind, step forward, Ruby, who proceeded to ace her driving test in Preston, first time, with only a few minor driving faults! Ending her movie script with a comfortable first-time pass.

Massive congratulations to you, Ruby, I look forward to seeing you on the road. Safe driving!

The wind was at a high speed following the storm, and this drive matched it, with the examiner commenting that it was the fastest he’d ever been round the route!

Congratulations therefore go to Liam, who confidently drove the streets of Preston today. The aspiring army recruit from Lostock Hall showed military precision in his driving, followed all the orders of the examiner and received the most important rank of his life to date
. A full driving license at the first time of asking!

It’s been a pleasure getting to know you, Liam, congratulations once again. See you on the road!
