FIRE UPDATE!

We have had access to our unit today & have been advised that it is safe to open again. So as of tomorrow it’s business as usual for us.

Again, a big thank you to our customers for all their calls & messages of concern & to those who have been patient & rebooked their vehicles.

Our thoughts are still very much with those businesses/friends who lost their livelihoods to this awful fire.

Many of you will probably know by now about the devastating fire that broke out on Wednesday afternoon. We have been overwhelmed by all the calls & messages from customers over the past couple of days asking if we were safe. We really do have the most wonderful customers & the kind words that you have expressed to us have just been truly heartfelt.

Unfortunately, many lost their businesses. These guys were not just people in the units opposite, they were our friends, friends that we have known 12yrs, our little community has more or less gone. We all looked out for each other & Hill St will not be the same without them. We hope & pray that they will find new premises & will get themselves up & running as soon as possible.

We can not express enough our gratitude to the fire fighters, they put their lives at risk to save livelihoods. The bravery they showed is quite literally remarkable, the explosions created from chemicals & gas canisters…well it’s a miracle there were no casualties. Also, thank you to the police for guiding people away from the area to safety, again risking their lives in the line of duty.

As for us, well, we were very lucky, our unit is still intact & we hope to be up & running again from Monday but this is all dependent upon the fire crews investigations. We will update as soon as we can.

MOT NEWS!!

The Institute of the Motoring Industry (IMI) are warning motorists not to delay in booking their MOT's. A spokesperson for the IMI said "Whilst the motives for the extension were sound, there are serious risks if this extension remains given the increased volume of traffic in recent weeks. The other issue, is if all motorists wait up to six months from when their MOT expired, there is going to be a backlog of tests in the Autumn & Winter, which could significantly overwhelm the sector."

A MESSAGE FOR ALL OUR CUSTOMERS & KEY WORKERS!!

FREE SAFETY CHECKS!!

As you may be aware, from April 1st, MOT’s could be suspended for 6 months provided that government guide lines are adhered to. These being, that your vehicle is deemed safe & road worthy.

Here at A & P Auto Services we are providing a visual health check free of charge. The visual health check will cover brakes, wipers, lights, fluid levels, fluid leaks, battery condition, exhaust, steering, suspension, wheels & tyres.

We practice current public safety guidelines. Gloves will be worn whilst we carry out our checks, only one customer in waiting area at any one time & all vehicles will be treated to an antibacterial clean before it leaves our workshop.
