Our team is growing 👋🏼

We’re really pleased to welcome Katie Cox, Jake Luzi and Owen Jones to Universal Live.

Katie has joined our Central team as Purchase Ledger, while Jake and Owen strengthen our Venue Services team, with Jake joining as AV Manager at The Chesford Grange Hotel and Owen as AV Technician at The Queens Hotel, Leeds.

As our team continues to grow, so does the breadth of expertise across the business, helping us continue to provide a great level of support to our clients and venue partners.

From plenary to party… ⚡

We were recently at De Vere Beaumont Estate, supporting our client First Event with technical production across multiple spaces for the Just Eat Sales Summit 2026 – from daytime content and breakouts through to an after-party in the Chapel.

Led by our Senior Project Manager, Ian, we worked collaboratively with the First Event team throughout pre-production and on-site, using a blend of LED and projection across the spaces to balance visual impact, versatility and the time available for rigging.

LED gets a lot of attention. And rightly so. But let’s not forget what projection can do… 👀

With projection, almost anything can become a canvas… from architecture and scenic through to 3D objects and custom-built surfaces.

It gives us the creative freedom to think beyond a traditional screen and design something completely unique to the space and the experience.

And there are practical benefits too. Projection can mean lower power draw, a quicker rig and, depending on the application, a more cost-effective solution.

At Universal Live, we stock a wide range of laser projectors, right through to ultra-bright 30K lumen units, backed by a team of video specialists who love finding creative ways to use them.

A few weeks ago, The British Dairying Cream Awards took over The Chesford Grange Hotel, where we’re proud to be the in-house AV partner.

Our Senior AV Manager, James, worked closely with the client to create a stand-out set for the evening… bringing the identity of the awards and the industry they celebrate into the room, with a little fun along the way. And yes… that meant cow print on the backdrop! 🐄
