🚗 New drivers: two illegal tyres could cost you your licence.

This September, TyreSafe is reissuing its flagship Young Driver Campaign to remind new and young drivers that tyre safety is their responsibility — even if they don’t own the vehicle they’re driving.

Driving with unsafe or illegal tyres can result in fines of up to £2,500 and 3 penalty points per tyre. For new drivers in their first two years on the road, just two illegal tyres could mean 6 penalty points and automatic licence revocation.

Our research found that 52% of UK drivers aged 17–24 don’t realise they are legally responsible for the condition of the tyres on any vehicle they drive.

That’s why we’re encouraging young drivers to remember ACT:

🔹 A – Air pressure
🔹 C – Condition
🔹 T – Tread
