🚛🔧 Quick Clutch Diagnosis & Repair 🔧🚛

A customer contacted us a few weeks ago after noticing their clutch pedal was sitting unusually high and they were struggling to select any gears.

The vehicle was booked in and, after carrying out our diagnostics, we identified the fault as a failed release bearing.

With the gearbox removed, we recommended fitting a new clutch kit at the same time to ensure long-term reliability and save on future labour costs.

🚛🔧 Major Clutch Repair Completed Over the Weekend 🔧🚛

Our own 26-tonne lorry suffered a clutch failure on Friday, so it was straight into the workshop for investigation.

Once stripped down, we found the clutch friction plate was completely worn out. While carrying out the repair, we decided to inspect the flywheel as a precaution—and it’s a good job we did!

⚠️ A significant crack was found running straight through the flywheel.

To avoid any future issues, we quickly sourced a replacement and got to work.

✅ Gearbox removed and inspected
✅ Worn clutch friction plate identified
✅ Cracked flywheel discovered during inspection
✅ New flywheel sourced and fitted
✅ Clutch re-fitted and adjusted
✅ Vehicle road tested on Saturday

After a successful test drive, everything was operating exactly as it should and the vehicle is now ready for work on Monday morning. 👍

This repair highlights the importance of carrying out thorough inspections while major components are stripped down—sometimes the fault you find isn’t the only problem hiding underneath.

🚛🔧 Same-Day Repair & Back on the Road 🔧🚛

One of our customers was experiencing issues with their 8-wheel grab lorry, so our team carried out a full diagnostic inspection to identify the fault.

After diagnosing the vehicle, we found:
✅ Faulty fan hub
✅ VTG turbo actuator requiring replacement

To minimise downtime, we sourced the parts and had them supplied and fitted the very same day.

🔧 Turbo actuator programmed using our Jaltest diagnostic system
🔧 Full road test carried out to confirm repairs

🚛 Trailer Lighting Fault Diagnosed & Repaired 🚛

We received a phone call from a customer reporting issues with the lights on the rear of their trailer.

The trailer was brought into our yard, and within the hour we had diagnosed the fault and started investigating the wiring.

🔍 On inspection, we found 6–7 previous wire joiners hidden within the rear wiring loom, all heavily corroded and turning green, causing poor connections and intermittent lighting faults.

Our repair included:
✅ Fault diagnosis
✅ Removal of the damaged wiring loom
✅ New loom supplied and fitted
✅ Full lighting system testing
✅ All lights operating correctly as they should

Rather than patching up old repairs, we carried out a proper fix to ensure long-term reliability and prevent future issues.
