Dark paint is the great exposer. Every swirl and wash mark shows up the second the light hits it, which is why so many dark cars look tired by year three.
Have a proper look at this one. The treeline sits in the door, the hedge runs along the rear quarter, and the edges of those reflections stay sharp the whole way down the car. Sharp edges are the tell. Soft, hazy reflections mean the paint is still full of marks and someone's just filled them in with a glaze.
Most people who ring us about a dark car say a version of the same thing: the last place that touched it left it worse.
It's a familiar pattern. The car gets washed badly, polished quickly, then everything left behind gets buried under something glossy instead of being taken out properly. Six months later it's all back.
