This VW Transporter T6.1 came into us with an SOS system fault showing on the dash.

After carrying out diagnostics, we traced the issue to a failed SOS backup battery. A new genuine Volkswagen battery was supplied and fitted ✅

Faults cleared, system tested and the Transporter is now back on the road fault-free. 👌

🚐 Volkswagen Crafter – Software Fault Diagnosed & Fixed 🔧💻

This Volkswagen Crafter came into CJL Mechanical Services Ltd for diagnostics after developing a fault.

Following diagnostic testing, we traced the issue to a software bug within the engine control unit (ECU). Rather than replacing parts unnecessarily, we carried out the required software update in-house, resolving the fault and getting the vehicle back up and running. ✅

💻 We can carry out software updates to vehicle control modules in-house, helping us diagnose and repair software-related faults without the need to send the vehicle elsewhere.

Sometimes it’s not a part that has failed — it can simply be a software issue that needs the correct update.

🔧 FORD TRANSIT CUSTOM – TURBO, CLUTCH & REAR MAIN SEAL 🔧

Another Ford Transit Custom through the workshop at CJL Mechanical Services Ltd.

This one was in for a new turbo, along with a new clutch kit. With the gearbox removed for the clutch replacement, we also found the rear main oil seal was leaking, so this was replaced at the same time. 👌

Another big job completed this week at CJL Mechanical Services Ltd! 👨‍🔧🚐

This Ford Transit Connect came into the workshop with a seized engine after it had dropped a valve. Unfortunately, the original engine was beyond repair.

The customer sourced a quality second-hand replacement engine, and we carried out the full engine swap, getting everything fitted, tested, and back on the road.

There’s nothing better than seeing another vehicle back where it belongs – keeping the wheels moving! 💪
