🚗 SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS HAVE HAD ENOUGH! 😡
I don’t normally bring politics onto our business page, but enough is enough!
After more than 22 years running GLM Motors Ltd, I find it absolutely disgraceful that this Labour government appears so out of touch with the reality of running a small business.
Apparently, business owners aren’t considered working people. Well, I’d like to know what exactly we are then!
Who opens the doors every morning? Who makes sure the staff are paid? Who deals with customers, suppliers, paperwork, VAT, taxes, rising bills and the endless responsibilities of keeping a business running?
Who lies awake at night worrying about the business? Who works evenings, weekends and days off without getting paid overtime?
WE DO! THE SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS!
We’ve spent over two decades building our business from hard work, determination and sacrifice. We provide employment, pay our taxes, support our local community and take all the financial risks that come with running a business.
And yet it feels like we’re constantly being punished for trying to make a living!
Higher wages, increasing National Insurance costs, electricity bills, business rates, taxes and endless regulations. The list never stops!
How much more does this government expect small businesses to take?
I’d genuinely love to see some of these politicians spend a month running an independent garage. Not just visiting for a photograph, but actually dealing with the pressures, responsibilities and financial commitments that we face every single day.
Small business owners aren’t sitting back enjoying an easy life. Many of us work longer hours than anyone realises, often putting our businesses before ourselves and our families.
We are working people. We always have been!
