That little TPMS light is there for a reason.

Place a 20p coin into the main tread grooves of your tyre.

If the outer band of the coin is hidden, your tread is above the 3mm mark. If you can see that outer band, your tyres are getting low and it’s worth having them properly checked.

Remember, the UK legal minimum tread depth for cars is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, but grip and wet-weather performance can deteriorate as tyres wear.

Tread depth is important, but it's only one part of the story.

Your tyres could still be unsafe if they have:

⚠️ Bulges caused by impact damage
⚠️ Uneven wear from incorrect alignment or suspension issues
⚠️ Cuts or damage exposing the internal cords

Summer holiday road trips... we've all been there!

Be honest... how many of these sound familiar?

🏖️ Packed the car so full you couldn't see out of the rear window
🧳 Had to sit with bags on your lap because "there's no more room!"
🛣️ Missed the turning because someone refused to use the sat nav
❄️ Argued over the air conditioning before you'd even left town
🍟 Promised "we won't stop" then pulled into the first services!

After visiting the garage the other day, they advised me to get the wheels checked properly.

So I went to the best men I know — Walkers Tyres Darlington .

Straight-talking professionals who know exactly what they’re doing. They jacked the car up, clearly showed me what the problem was and explained that, to be on the safe side, they’d recommend replacing a tyre.

So naturally, I bought two 😂 — belts and braces!

Pulled in, diagnosed, tyres sorted and back out again all within about 20 minutes. These lads work like a finely tuned machine.

What I really appreciate is there are no dodgy sales tactics, no pressure and no trying to sell you something you don't need. Just good, professional advice from extremely polite lads who know their trade.

If you haven’t had your tyres and wheels checked in a while, go and pay them a visit. When it comes to the only four bits of your car actually touching the road, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
