Setting up a Custom Car Paint Business.

From trading cars to real custom work, this is the messy, creative road to custom car painting success.

• Creativity beats “bland and boring” every time
• Big dreams don’t happen in a week
• You don’t just paint, you build the whole vibe
• Car shows are part of the process, not the payoff
• The hard part is the prep and the cost adds up fast

What’s your dream custom color or build idea?

If you don’t go to bare metal, you’re just hiding problems.

We’re restoring a custom 350Z and learning the hard way why “just paint it” never holds up.

• Bare metal shows what’s actually happening under the panels
• Hidden rust and filler cost more later than doing it right now
• We had weeks of bare metal work, plus plenty of welding to get it solid
• The result is quality paint adhesion, not a quick cosmetic fix

Have you ever skipped prep and regretted it? Tell me what happened.

This 350Z didn’t just get painted. It got transformed.

Shirley’s “little baby” started as a custom color plan: black to white base, pearl over the top, then candy to completely change the vibe.

• Black rear + white front, blended for a real gradient look
• Pearl effect builds depth before the candy goes on
• Candy flips the whole color story: passion pink to cosmic blue
• Custom welded vents and tailored panel work make it one-of-one

Would you go cosmic blue, or keep it closer to the original? Drop your pick.
