🏁 WOW! WHAT A WEEKEND AT LYDDEN HILL! 🏁

Three days, three different ways to experience motorsport and, most importantly, a whole lot of FIRSTS! 💛🏁

FRIDAY | RALLYSPRINT COURSE
We kicked things off with our Rallysprint Course, where we were joined by Ellie from Motorsport UK and Brandon (Full Time Formula), both getting their very first taste of Rallycross and Rallysprints behind the wheel!

Jon also joined us for his first Rallysprint Course, with an added goal in sight… preparing for his very first motorsport competition the following day! 👀

SATURDAY | RALLYSPRINT COMPETITION
Time to put the training into practice! 🔥
We had four drivers out in our hire cars, all taking on their first Rallysprint.
For Jon, that meant going from Friday’s coaching straight into his first competitive motorsport event just 24 hours later.

Andrew brought his experience from oval racing across to the mixed surfaces and adapted brilliantly, going on to secure an impressive 2nd in class! 🥈

Former British Rally Championship driver Garry was also back behind the wheel after a long time away from competition, taking on a completely different challenge in a Swift. It was fantastic to see him competing again! 🙌

❤️ Jess Gwynne took on the Rallysprint in our much-loved yellow LHD Swift.
Four drivers, four different backgrounds, but all experiencing Rallysprint for the first time.

SUNDAY | RALLYCROSS COURSE
There was no slowing down on Sunday as we switched focus to our Rallycross Course. where we welcomed our KAP competition prize winner, Bradley for his Rallycross experience, while local resident Tom and friends joined us after winning a passenger ride donated to a local charity.

Then came another very special first…
Young William, Jess’s son, had only learnt clutch control on Friday afternoon with Uncle Pete. By Sunday he was behind the wheel on the Rallycross circuit and, within just a few runs, his speed and confidence were building, he was even getting air over the jump! 🙌🔥

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us across the three days.

Learn the car, develop your technique and prepare for competition with professional coaching and full support.

Saturday 8 August — Rallysprint Competition
Put everything into action in a timed competition on a mixed-surface course. Two cars run at the same time on different sections, so there is no side-by-side racing or contact to worry about.

Learn the circuit at your own pace, practise starts, braking and car control, then compare your times with the other drivers throughout the day.

Sunday 9 August — Rallycross Course
Experience the excitement of mixed-surface driving on both tarmac and gravel.

🏆🥈 DOUBLE PODIUM FOR PGM! 🥈🏆

A fantastic result for Peter Gwynne Motorsport at Round 5 of the Swift Sport Rallycross Championship, with Danny Bean and Scott Parker securing the top two steps of the podium! 🎉

Danny delivered an outstanding performance to take victory on his Swift Sport Rallycross debut, making an impressive transition from karting into cars. 🏁

Scott, competing in only his second ever rallycross event, completed a brilliant result for the team, securing second place and a Peter Gwynne Motorsport one-two at Lydden Hill. 👏

Ollie Hooper also had an amazing day competing in his first ever motorsport event. He narrowly missed the podium after a restart in the final saw him miss the start, leaving him playing catch-up. Despite this, he fought back to finish a very close fourth. 💪

A huge thank you to all our team for their hard work throughout the event. It was also great to welcome former Swift racer Guy Pettit back to the Swift Family and see him helping and supporting our drivers. 💛

A special shout-out must also go to all the friends and family who came along to support our drivers and cheer them on throughout the day. Your support makes such a difference! 🙌📣

Bedale’s Danny Bean Set for British Rallycross Debut

Peter Gwynne Motorsport is pleased to welcome a familiar face back to Swift Rallycross.

Danny Bean first appeared on the Swift scene at just four years old, supporting his father, and now returns to take on his own competitive challenge.

Danny previously joined us for a coaching day at Lydden Hill, and we are delighted that he will now return with PGM as he transitions from karting into the Swift Sport Rallycross Championship.

He enters rallycross with an impressive karting résumé, including O Plate victories at Rowrah and Teesside, multiple championship titles, and podium finishes in British and Spanish 24-hour events. He currently leads the Teesside Sprint Pro class.

The Bean family has a strong history with the Swift championship. Danny’s father, Johny, competed in 2011 and narrowly missed the title in 2012, while his brother Charlie secured the Junior Swift Championship in 2014.

Now it is Danny’s turn to begin his own chapter.

Speaking about the decision to run with PGM, Johny said:

“Peter and Sarah have extensive knowledge and experience within this championship, and Peter’s coaching expertise will be invaluable as Danny makes the transition into rallycross.”

Peter Gwynne added:

“Having had the opportunity to assess Danny’s potential during one of our coaching days at Lydden Hill, I am looking forward to working with him, developing his skills, and supporting his progression from karting into cars.”

We are proud to be running Danny’s car and pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with the Bean family.
