The Role

You'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles at customer sites and within our workshop facilities.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, working on a broad range of commercial vehicles, trailers and fleet assets.

Key duties include:

Planned maintenance and servicing

PMI inspections

Vehicle diagnostics and fault finding

Brake and suspension repairs

Electrical repairs and troubleshooting

MOT preparation

Trailer maintenance

Accurate completion of maintenance records and inspection sheets

What You'll Bring

Experience as an HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician or HGV Fitter

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability

A professional and customer-focused approach

Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

Full UK Driving Licence

NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification desirable

HGV Licence advantageous but not essential

The Role

As a Mobile HGV Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned inspections, servicing, diagnostics and repairs across customer fleets throughout the region. When not attending customer sites, you'll support our workshop team with vehicle maintenance and inspections.

Your day-to-day work will include:

Routine servicing and preventative maintenance
Diagnosing and repairing faults on HGVs and trailers
Vehicle inspections and safety checks
Brake, suspension and mechanical repairs
Electrical fault-finding and repairs
Completing job cards and maintenance records
Supporting workshop operations when required
What We're Looking For
HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician or similar experience
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification preferred
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Ability to work independently and manage your workload
Professional approach when dealing with customers
Full UK driving licence
HGV licence advantageous but not essential

Today marks 60 years since the tragedy of Aberfan, a day that changed a community forever and left a lasting mark on the hearts of people across Wales and beyond.

Mobile Commercial Fitter – No Call‑Outs, Company Van Provided

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Commercial Fitter to join our expanding team. This is a stable, structured role with no call‑outs — ideal for someone who wants the variety of mobile work without the disruption of emergency roadside jobs. You’ll carry out inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of commercial vehicles, while also supporting our workshop team when not on-site.

If you’re a skilled commercial technician who values consistency, professionalism, and a well‑organised working environment, this role is built for you.

Key Responsibilities
Complete detailed inspections, servicing, and repairs on commercial vehicles, ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across HGVs, trailers, and wider fleet equipment.

Attend client sites for planned maintenance and repairs — no emergency call‑outs

Support the workshop team with repairs, routine maintenance, and general workshop operations when not on mobile duties.

Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and service documentation.

Adhere to all health and safety requirements both on-site and within the workshop.

Requirements
Relevant HGV qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).

Proven experience in commercial vehicle maintenance, including HGVs.

Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently.

Full UK driving licence (HGV entitlement advantageous).

Good communication skills and a professional approach with customers and internal teams.

A proactive, detail‑focused mindset and the flexibility to support both mobile and workshop operations.

Important update for operators: DVSA now expects every commercial vehicle to have a properly laden brake test carried out at the PMI itself or within the 14 days leading up to it. Unladen tests no longer meet the standard unless the vehicle physically cannot be loaded.

Many Ford commercial engines — including the 2.0 EcoBlue — use wet timing belts that run internally in engine oil. These belts degrade over time, shedding rubber into the lubrication system. If not replaced at the correct interval:
