We haven't posted anything for quite a while so here is a little update of just three of of the project builds we are working on.
Firstly, a Talbot Sunbeam Lotus that maybe familiar to regular followers. We restored this car a few years ago but it has since been sold. The new owners plan to use the car for HRCR and Hero historic tour type rally events. Among the upgrades, we have fitted a full roll cage, uprated the suspension and rear axle, fitted a sump guard and navigation equipment. A couple of small jobs left to do and then ready for a shake down.
The second project is the restoration of an original Wheatcroft Formula Classic race car. This is chassis number 2 and we have now been able to refit its original Millington engine after an extensive rebuild by Piero Di Capite at X-Power engines. We are still missing some of the original parts but hopefully we will soon have these and then we can finish this project.
The third project shown here is an original AVO Mk1 RS2000. After we started work on the car, it soon became apparent that the car had suffered from use and age over the years so the customer decided to go for a full restoration. The car was stripped to a bare shell, blasted and repaired before a full new paint job. Now it is coming back together slowly with as many of its original components being serviced and rebuilt. Hopefully this will be finished later this summer.
