We would like to wish good luck to all crews taking part in Saturdays annual Snetterton Stages Rally, especially all the local crews. To the organisers, we hope all goes well. And to the marshalls, the event doesn't happen without your work and dedication. Let's hope the weather will be kind.

We are not looking after anyone in the rally this year but we will be in the service area all day displaying this original Ford Motorsport Super 1600 Puma. This car was driven by Belgium driver, Francois Duval in the 2002 Junior World Rally Championship, winning the opening round in MonteCarlo. This is also the car that Ryan Champion drove the car in the 2003 British Rally Championship. Now fully restored by TME, Ryan uses the car on occasional display events including the Eifel Rallye Festival in Germany.

If your coming along to Snetterton on Saturday, come along and see the car and say hello.

This weekend will be our first outing for 2026. On Saturday we will be at Gaydon for the annual Historic Rally Car Register Open Day.

We are taking along Ryan Champion ex works Ford S1600 Puma which will form part of a display of around a dozen former World Rally Championship cars from various decades.

This car was built by Ford Motorsport at Boreham for Francois Duval to use in the 2002 Junior World Rally Championship. Highlight of the year was an outright category win on the 2002 Monte Carlo.

In 2003 Ford gave the car to Ryan Champion to contest the Super 1600 section of the British Rally Championship, very nearly winning the category outright. .

Move forward 20 years and TME Motorsport Engineering have completed a bare shell restoration of the car back to its original 2002 Monte specification.

Ryan used the car in the Eifel Rallye in Germany last year will hopefully be using the car at Eifel again this year and possibly some other similar events.

If your coming along Saturday, come and say hello.

FOR SALE.

DS Pro Kara RS200 Replica.

Currently SORN.

This car is now being placed for sale in its current condition. The car is very close to completion but still requires some none major work before it is finished. The car was scheduled to have the cabin freshly trimmed and upholstered but this still remains to be done. Other unfinished work includes the final fit of all dash & instruments, fitting of a new heated windscreen, running tests for fuel system, transmission, cooling system and engine, a full final geometry set up and then a shakedown test. The car will require a new MOT.

The car arrived to us as a rolling chassis after repairs and strengthening had been completed to the main chassis frame which was then freshly finished in satin black powder coat. We then proceeded to rebuild the car from the chassis up with a lot of attention being paid to detail that needs to be seen to be appreciated.

A brief specification and rebuild details include;

Engine - Fully rebuilt 2.0 litre Cosworth YB engine and turbo. The engine has been run on a dyno at Harvey Gibbs.

Gearbox - Fully rebuilt Renault UN1 with new Quaife upgrade kit including 1 piece input shaft and revised 1st & 2nd gear ratios. New Quaife ATB differential. All new bearings and seals.

All hubs rebuilt.

Driveshafts rebuilt with new CV joints.

Fuel tank & system upgraded and fully rebuilt.

All new silicon 'classic' look hoses with new polished aluminium turbo and water pipes.

Brand new Cyprium Motorsport bespoke wiring harness including new relay and fuse boards. New VDO gauges and sender units.

Brakes - Front - New Wilwood brake kit - 300 mm discs & 4 pot calipers.
- Rear - Fully rebuilt sliding single pot calipers with 280mm cross drilled discs.
- All new Aeroquip brake hoses.

All new aluminium floors. New sound insulation fitted with sound deadening material between panels.

This car can be completed as required but this would be by separate negotiation.

The car can be viewed at TME Motorsport Engineering in Suffolk BUT this is strictly by appointment only.

Serious inquiries only to [email protected] or call Clive on 01379 890945.

WE ARE HIRING.

We are looking for an experienced technician, preferably with a motorsport background. This could be full time or part time depending on the successful candidate. We would also like to hear from any contractors who have gaps in their current schedules and looking for additional work.

The position will be primarily workshop based but you will likely be required to attend events and tests and therefore the will be some weekends away.

The ideal candidate will be self motivated, conscientious and have the ability to work on own initiative under pressure. An understanding of the requirement for good record keeping is essential. The work will be varied including rally and race cars from current homolagated cars to modern and historic cars. We also do work on classic vehicles from full restorations to routine service work so you may be required to work on this side of the business from time to time.

A little in car from Eifel Rallye with Ryan Champion and Geoff Mayes. This is the last stage from Friday afternoon and you can hear the gearbox is not healthy. After the recce on Thursday, Ryan asked to have the front splitter removed otherwise he would likely remove it on some corner cuts he was planning. Well that's one of the biggest cuts ever😁😁

Unfortunately Eifel Rallye 2025 has not really gone to plan. On the afternoon loop of stages yesterday, a problem with the differential in the Puma gearbox raised its ugly head. After inspection at service the decision to withdraw the car was regrettably taken but as gearbox parts are difficult to obtain now it was the best decision.

George had his original Mouton / Pons Gp.4 works Audi Quattro from 1981 Acropolis Rally on static display and over dinner last night it was provisionally agreed with the organisers that Ryan and Geoff could use this car instead for today's 8 stages.

So a late night for us last night moving safety equipment etc from the Puma to the Audi as the equipment in the Audi was original and very out of date and the car was ready for scrutinering at 8am this morning.

However, the original registration documents are safely locked up in an office in Austria which meant they could not be presented to the organisers this morning and that was the end of that.

George and Allan are still running in the ex Robert Droogmans Belga Porsche and all is OK for them so with the sun shining and the big crowds of people attending the event, we will continue to try and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

We have not posted anything for a while as we have mainly been busy with workshop based projects. This is one of them.

This Super 1600 Ford Puma was originally built by Ford Motorsport at Boreham and was driven by Francois Duval to victory in the Junior World Rally Championship section of the 2002 Monte Carlo Rally.

In 2003 Ford Motorsport gave the car to Ryan Champion and Cliffy Simmons to contest the British Rally Championship. Twenty years later the car arrived with us for a full restoration and rebuild.

It has at times been a difficult project with problems obtaining parts. We even had to get some parts made. But now we are just about ready to go to Germany for the Eifel Rally at the end of July after we have done a shakedown test.

But before that we will be taking the car to Pickering in Yorkshire for Malton Motor Clubs evening with Ryan Champion on Monday evening.

Around fifteen years ago we were asked by a long standing customer to do some work on his genuine original Ford RS200 to get it back on the road.
Our customer was inspired by the Slowly Sideways demonstration event which was part of the 2010 Killarney rally of the Lakes in Ireland where various Group B rally cars and other historic rally cars took part in demonstration runs ahead of the main event on classic stages like Molls Gap, Healy Pass etc.
So an idea was born to rebuild his car into a tribute to the original works rally cars with the view to taking part in these Slowly Sideways events. The car made its first appearance on the 2014 Killarney Rally of the Lakes.
Since then the car has been sold a couple of times and now is part of a private collection here in the UK. This short clip of a road test of the car recently appeared on Face Book.
