Excel Driver Training Limited offers driver training to new learners and those who want a little extra help for what ever reason. Lessons with an Excel Instructor focus on the pupil and the pupils needs, letting them take control of their learning and as a result making lessons more enjoyable and safer drivers on the road. All lessons are conducted at the pupils own pace and in a style that suits

the pupil best. During Lessons with Excel you wont be taught how to pass your test but will be coached how to be safe on any road and deal with any situation that may arise after you've passed.

Last week’s rule changes have already had an impact.

We’ve seen a sharp rise in calls and enquiries from people asking if we can take them to their driving test with a test already booked, despite never having had a lesson with us.

Just to be clear…

We are not a car-hire service.

As a rule, Excel Driver Training Ltd does not take pupils to test unless they have been taught and properly assessed by us.

Our job is to teach people to drive safely, not simply hand over our cars for a one-off attempt.

Driving is about far more than scraping a pass. It’s about being safe when you’re out there on your own.

The reality is this:

It is far better to fail when you’re nearly ready than pass when you’re not!!!

Our pupils have regular lesson slots, and they keep them. It would not be fair to cancel their lessons for someone we have never taught.

Test days certainly don’t become worthwhile by handing our cars to a stranger and taking on all the risks involved.

So our policy stands:

✅ We only take pupils to test when we have taught them
✅ We have assessed them properly
✅ We know they are genuinely ready

That’s how we keep people safe.
That’s how we look after our existing pupils.
And that’s how we run our business at Excel Driver Training Ltd

Only you can book or manage your car driving test. This means your driving instructor won’t be allowed to book it for you.
