D.B.S car and commercial repairs LTD was established in 1987 by father and son Derek and Philip. Derek has been in the industry from leaving school at 16 working on cars then moving onto commercial vehicles. Derek served his time at Roy fords, Bury before moving onto VW. Then onto the commercial scene with Dickinson, Seddons and his last employer Harry Dudley transport. Before starting the business in 1987.

Philip left school and went into employment with Harry Dudley transport. I was only there for just 12 months due to the company losing a contract. I was let go, this is when my father and I decided to set up on our own doing cars at first, due to a clause my father signed. It wasn’t long before we where being approached by customers to look after their commercial vehicles. This is when the decision was made to concentrate on commercial vehicles. We still do the odd cars, but only for family and close friends.

The business first starting in Farnworth. In small premises until we where forced to move due to the parking restrictions implemented. Then we moved to Westhoughton. To larger premises and yard. Before the premises where sold, we then moved to our current premises in Blackrod in 2005. Where our customer base has expanded due to the move.

Heavy goods vehicle mechanic apprentice required.

We require a HGV Apprentice with some or all of the following-
