We are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A189 Spine Road in the Cramlington area of Northumberland.

A section of the road is closed in both directions between Moor Farm Roundabout to Laverock Hall Road, and this is expected to remain in place for some time.

Motorists are advised to follow the local diversions which have been put in place, and seek alternative routes where possible – especially during rush hour traffic.

Enquiries at the scene remain ongoing and more information will be shared in due course.
