🇬🇧🔧 1967 MGB RESTORATION 🔧🇬🇧

Something a little different through the NHPC workshop! 👀🛠️

This beautiful 1967 MGB made the trip all the way down from Maclean, near Yamba, for some much-needed love and a proper freshen-up. 🚗💨❤️

Once we got into it, we discovered some rust that needed attention, so she was sent straight off for paint and panel work 🎨✨ while back at the workshop we ripped into the mechanical side of the restoration. 🔧⚙️

This one turned into a pretty comprehensive overhaul:

🔧 Gearbox completely rebuilt
⚙️ Engine removed and fully resealed
🛠️ Every gasket, seal and plug replaced
💧 All fluids replaced
🔍 Mechanical systems thoroughly inspected and repaired as required
✅ Nothing left untouched

Once everything was back together, running beautifully and mechanically sorted, our friends at worked their magic with a full cut and polish 🧼✨ bringing that stunning British Racing Green back to life. 💚🇬🇧

And just look at the finished product! 😍👌

Now she’s ready to make the journey back home and enjoy plenty more years on the road. 🌊☀️🛣️

A 1967 MGB might not be the usual sort of car you see coming through our doors, but that’s part of what we love about this trade. 💪🔧

We’re not biased about what badge is on the bonnet, what country it came from or what era it was built. If a challenge rolls into the workshop, we’ll take it on and put the same pride, care and attention into it as we do everything else. ❤️‍🔥🛠️

🔥🏁 FORGED S15 SR20DET COMPLETE! 🏁🔥

Another weapon leaves the workshop! 💪

This S15 rolled into Northside Hi-Performance Centre needing more than just a freshen up—it deserved a proper forged rebuild. So that’s exactly what it got. 🔧⚙️

The engine was removed, completely stripped and inspected before the block, crankshaft and cylinder head were professionally machined. From there it was back on the bench where every clearance was measured, every torque spec double checked and the engine was assembled with premium performance components throughout. No shortcuts. No guesswork. 👊

Once the engine was back in the car, we primed the oiling system before first start, fired it into life, set the base timing and idle, completed multiple heat cycles and gave it its first road test under varying engine loads and low boost to begin the run-in process. 🏎️💨

Back in the workshop it received a complete post-road-test inspection, with all fluid levels rechecked and a thorough inspection for any oil, coolant or fuel leaks before being given the tick of approval. ✅

This isn’t the end of the build either… 👀

The owner will now complete the run-in period before it’s back on the hoist for a fresh oil and filter service, Nismo 750cc injectors and a final dyno tune. Then it’ll finally get to stretch its legs! 🚀🔥

There’s nothing better than hearing a forged SR20 fire up for the first time after weeks of measuring, machining and assembling. That’s what it’s all about. 💯

Big thanks to the owner for trusting us with the build. We can’t wait to see this thing laying down some serious numbers on the dyno! 📈🏁

This 180SX is a good reminder that it’s not always about what people see on the outside.

The paint might not be perfect and it might not be a show car, but underneath the bonnet sits a tidy SR20DET that’s been built to be driven and enjoyed.

This one arrived after being off the road for more than 5 years. We worked through a long list of repairs and upgrades to get it back on the road, including:

• Rocker cover gasket replacement
• R8 coil conversion
• Haltech setup and configuration for the new ignition system
• Exhaust leak repairs
• New sump after damage to the original unit
• Fuel injector service
• Engine mount replacement
• Drift knuckle installation
• Full service
• Wheel alignment set up for a street and drift balance

After years sitting idle, it’s now back running, driving and ready to be enjoyed again.

We spend a lot of time looking under bonnets and sometimes that’s where the real beauty of a car is found. Cars like this aren’t built for trophies—they’re built to be driven, and bringing them back to life is what it’s all about.

This incredibly rare GT-R came through Northside Hi-Performance for:🔧 Nismo twin plate clutch renewal🛢 All driveline oils replaced using premium Nulon synthetic oils🛢 Engine oil & filter service using Penrite Racing oil✅ Full vehicle inspection & check over🚘 Driver’s window motor & regulator replacement

The V•Spec II Nür is one of the rarest and most desirable GT-Rs ever produced, built right at the end of R34 production and powered by the legendary Nür-spec RB26 using strengthened internals derived from Nissan’s N1 racing program.

With values now pushing well into the half-million-dollar range, cars like these deserve the highest level of care, attention to detail and quality products throughout — something we pride ourselves on at Northside Hi-Performance.

Always an honour having vehicles of this calibre in the workshop. Timeless shape, iconic sound and still one of the greatest JDM performance cars ever built.

During the week we’re flat out — cars booked back to back, constant flow through the workshop — so jobs like this need their own time set aside to be done properly. ⏱️🔧

This R32 GTR is one of those jobs.

Driveline out, going right through it properly with no rush, no shortcuts — just giving it the time and attention it deserves 🛠️🔥

It’s not about playing favourites, it’s just how we operate.

🔥 Weekly Workshop Update – Northside Hi-Performance Centre 🔧

Another massive week at NSHP with everything from performance legends to daily drivers keeping us flat out.

This week we had:

🏁 Nissan GTR in for maintenance and inspection
🏁 Toyota Supra in the workshop for performance work
🛻 Dodge Ram in for repairs and servicing
🇪🇺 Multiple European vehicles in for major engine repairs and diagnostics

Other work this week included:

✅ Injector removal & testing
✅ Engine tear downs and timing repairs
✅ Air conditioning compressor replacement

“Lifetime transmission fluid” doesn’t exist ❌

We’re seeing more and more vehicles come in with dark, burnt automatic transmission fluid — despite “full service history.”

Automatic transmissions rely on clean fluid for:
• Hydraulic pressure control
• Clutch engagement
• Cooling ❄️
• Lubrication

Once fluid oxidises and breaks down:
• Shift quality deteriorates
• Internal wear increases
• Heat builds up 🔥
• Failure becomes expensive 💸

A proper transmission service isn’t just a drain and refill.

At Northside we:
• Inspect fluid condition 👀
• Remove pan where applicable
• Check magnets for debris
• Replace filter
• Refill with correct specification fluid
• Reset adaptations where required

Preventative maintenance on a transmission is far cheaper than replacing one 💰

If your car has over 60–80,000kms and the transmission has never been serviced, it’s worth having it checked.

Don’t wait for shudder, flare or harsh shifts ⚠️
