What a result!
A lot of good people put in a lot of effort so that we could swan around a mountain last weekend.
Before we even got to Bathurst a lot of work went into making the car pretty, square and reliable. Massive thanks to Matthew Wildridge and Wildridge for the huge task of repairing last years carnage and getting her looking pretty again. Dave Allan from DJA Mechanical went above and beyond and put in a bunch of hours to get her mechanically reliable for Bathurst. Then doing a 24 hour mercy dash to Sydney and back on Friday to get a new gearbox in. Locky Donohue from Bromspec Motor Works waved his magic wand over the electrics and Ward from Wardsport got her pointing in the right direction again. Christy Mc tolerated me in the lead up whilst providing financial and moral support before taking on the huge role of team manager both before and during the weekend. Everyone in the piccy bought in, did what was asked of them and more and gave up their Easter weekend for us. So thankful and appreciative of their efforts. ‘Luvs yas all.’
To break the Japanese monopoly of class D was pretty cool and even more satisfying after the disappointment of last year through no fault of our own and errors from other drivers who should have known better. All drivers performed above expectation and kept our nose clean. Special thanks to Mik Hazelton for his driving skills and coaching keeping us all doing our best. Thanks red mustang for the Liberace and overtake under a safety car.
The weekend was filled with drinks, laughs and great food. Big thanks to Mik’s dad Laurie for keeping us fed and caffeinated.
Just before Bathurst last year we lost a great mate and valued team member Lawrence. This one’s for you mate.
Game on!!!
