BLUZLA | DRAG CHALLENGE PREP 🔧🏁

The Drag Challenge prep is well underway on Bluzla, and we’ve been ticking off the jobs that are going to make this thing reliable, consistent and ready to put in the miles.

We’ve stepped up the oiling system with a larger baffled sump, along with a remote oil filter setup to give the engine a bit more oil capacity and better control under hard acceleration.

For the drivetrain, we fitted a proper tailshaft loop, upgraded the rear wheel studs to ARP, and fitted 3.46 diff gears to help get the combination moving and make the most of the power.

Under the bonnet, we’ve also stepped up the camshaft with a Lunati Stage 3 turbo cam, supplied by Precision International. This should give Bluzla a healthy dose of extra grunt while keeping the combination suited to the demands of Drag Challenge.

There’s still plenty more to do before we point it down the road, but one job at a time and we’ll have it ready.

Bluzla is getting closer. 🏁💨

Street Machine Drag Challenge update for QWKVX.
I've got it mostly painted with the bumpers and side trims, mirrors and small items to go but have run out of paint. Wholesale Paint Group Shepparton have me a few extra liters mixed up and I'll get everything finished by the weekend so I can get it back together. Then we'll move on to the mechanics side of things. Fingers crossed I'll be driving it Sunday.

Gordon's Iron LQ4 heading out the door.
LQ4 short engine from Precision International along with the pistons, gaskets and bearings.
The block was honed .005 to clean up the bores.
Gordan already had the cam and Air Flow Research
Going into a 1948 chev truck.
