🚨 BRAKE FLUID: THE LITTLE THING THAT CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE! 🚨

Did you know brake fluid can become contaminated over time, even if your brakes seem to be working just fine? 👀

At Manifolds And Mullets Mechanical, we test your brake fluid for FREE at every service because your safety matters to us! 🔧

Our brake fluid tester uses a traffic light system to show the condition of your fluid:

🟢 GREEN: All good! Your brake fluid is in good condition.

🟠 ORANGE: Your brake fluid is starting to deteriorate and should be replaced at your next service.

🔴 RED: Time to replace it NOW! Your brake fluid has reached a level of contamination where replacement is recommended.

In this photo, the brake fluid has tested RED, meaning it needs to be replaced ASAP! 🚨

So why does brake fluid matter?

Brake fluid transfers the force from your brake pedal through the hydraulic braking system to help bring your vehicle to a stop. Most brake fluids absorb moisture over time, which can lower their boiling point and contribute to corrosion inside the braking system. Under heavy braking, contaminated fluid can increase the risk of brake fade and reduced braking performance.

When your brake fluid is contaminated, simply topping it up isn’t the answer. The old fluid needs to be flushed through the system and replaced with the correct fresh fluid, following the manufacturer’s specifications.

And the best part? We check it for FREE at every service because we’d rather catch a problem early than have you find out the hard way! ❤️

🩵🔧 THE TOOLBOX TOUR YOU DIDN’T KNOW YOU NEEDED! 🔧🩵

Before anyone comes for me about how clean my drawers are, YES, THEY LOOK LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME! 😂🤣

I clean my tools with brake cleaner and wipe every single one down before putting them away. If you’ve used my tools, you know the rules. YOU DO NOT PUT THEM BACK DIRTY. I WILL KNOW. 😂

But seriously, looking after my tools is about more than having a pretty toolbox. It’s about pride in what I do. Every job deserves care and attention, even the parts nobody sees. 🩵🔧

They knew how particular I was. It was either going to be the RIGHT aqua, or it wasn’t happening! 😂

AND LOOK AT IT! ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! 😍

We work hard, pay bills, look after everyone else and carry a million responsibilities. But we also have this beautiful little thing called FREE WILL! 😂🙌

If an aqua toolbox makes me ridiculously happy every time I walk into the workshop, WHY WOULDN’T I?!

🚨 COOLANT ISN’T JUST A PRETTY COLOUR, PEOPLE! 😂🔧

Did you know you shouldn’t just grab any coolant off the shelf and tip it into your car?

Different vehicles have different manufacturer specifications for their coolant, including the type of coolant required, its chemical composition and its ability to handle certain temperatures and protect your engine.

🟢 🔵 🟠 🩷 THE COLOUR ACTUALLY MATTERS… BUT NOT FOR THE REASON YOU THINK!

Coolant colour can help identify what is already in your vehicle, but colour alone does NOT guarantee compatibility. Different brands can use the same colour for different coolant formulations, and some compatible coolants can even be different colours!

Your vehicle is designed to use a coolant that meets its specific manufacturer requirements. Mixing incompatible coolants can affect corrosion protection, cause deposits or sludge to form, and potentially lead to cooling system problems.

And yes, you absolutely CAN change your coolant colour if you really want to!

Personally, I run BLUE coolant in my car because I like the way it looks and it suits my car better. 😂💙 But that means properly flushing the entire cooling system and refilling it with the correct compatible coolant, not just tipping a different colour in and hoping for the best!

So before you top up your coolant, check your owner’s manual or manufacturer specifications. Don’t choose based on colour alone, and definitely don’t mix random coolants together just because they’re on special at the parts shop!

Your engine deserves better than a coolant cocktail. 🍹😂

🎉 PLEASE HELP US WELCOME THE NEWEST MEMBER OF THE MANIFOLDS AND MULLETS MECHANICAL FAMILY! 🚙🩵

BREE! 🩷

We are SO excited to officially welcome our new Admin, Personal Assistant, Parts Interpreter and all round office superstar to the team! 🥳

At the moment, she will be joining us in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the hope of expanding her days as we grow. And honestly, we couldn’t be happier to have her on board!

She is absolutely exceptional, such a beautiful person, and we are already so proud to call her one of our own. 🩵

Of course, we can’t introduce her without mentioning her gorgeous three year old daughter, Darcy, who has already managed to wrap every single one of us around her little finger. 😂We can already tell we are in trouble with this one!

Now, we have a little favour to ask of our amazing customers and community. 🙏

There is A LOT to learn around here. Between the phones, parts, bookings, customers, paperwork, workshop chaos and everything else that comes with keeping this place running, we know it can be a lot to take in!

So please, be kind, be patient and give her the time she needs to learn the ropes. 🚙

If she needs to ask the same question five times, ten times or twenty times, let her! We would much rather she ask a hundred questions and get it right than feel uncomfortable asking for help.

Nobody walks into a new role knowing everything, and we want her to feel supported, confident and comfortable enough to learn at her own pace.

We genuinely believe she is going to become an absolute LEGEND once she gets everything under her belt. She has already made such a positive impression on us, and we are so excited to see her grow with our little business.

We are building something special here, and that means looking after the people who help us build it.

The sweetest sound ever is... the sound of a socket hitting the floor after dropping it in an engine bay.

There’s a whole lot of things said in a mechanic workshop that would make absolutely no sense to anyone outside of one. 🤣

Between the missing tools, the questionable methods of fixing things and the things we probably shouldn’t say out loud… it’s all just part of the job. 😂

Haven’t even finished the job and apparently the next three paychecks are already accounted for. 🤣

One minute Jaymie’s planning a renovation, the next she’s found another car she wants to buy… and don’t even get her started on caravans. 😂

There’s always another project, another idea and somehow another thing that needs buying.

Anyway… better get back to it. Those plans aren’t going to pay for themselves. 🔧
