💙 SUPPORTING ONE OF OUR OWN 💙

Today we are reaching out to our incredible local community to ask for a little bit of help for a beautiful family who mean so much to us.

Aaron, Michelle and their three beautiful children have recently been hit with the devastating news that Aaron has been diagnosed with stage four cancer in two places in his body.

There are no words that can truly describe what this young family is going through right now. Their focus should be on each other, supporting their children and getting Aaron through his treatments, not worrying about whether their vehicle is safe or reliable enough to get them to and from appointments.

As their local mechanic, we are doing everything we can to support this beautiful family. We will be assisting with their vehicle to make sure it is safe, reliable and ready to get them wherever they need to go during this incredibly difficult time.

We are also reaching out to our fellow local businesses to see if anyone would be willing to help us provide this family with a FREE set of tyres. This is one less expense and one less thing for them to worry about.

RESPECT IS NON NEGOTIABLE

This afternoon we had a customer behave in an absolutely disgraceful and unacceptable manner towards Jaymie.

Not only did he refuse to acknowledge or speak to her because she is a woman and demanded to speak to “the man who is the boss”, but he proceeded to verbally abuse her, calling her disgusting and degrading names including “f**king b***h” and “tart” and so many other colourful gender base slurs as well as degrading comments. This is not the first time this particular customer had had an issue dealing with a woman in the Automotive industry.

Let’s make something very clear.

Jaymie is a mechanic. She is a business owner. She is a valued member of this business and she deserves exactly the same respect as anyone else who works here.

Being a woman does not make her any less qualified, any less capable or any less deserving of respect.

We will not tolerate aggression, intimidation, abuse, misogyny or degrading language towards Jaymie or any member of our team.

We are extremely proud to be a business that supports women in the automotive industry, and we will continue to stand up for women and against this kind of disgusting behaviour.

There is absolutely no excuse for speaking to a woman this way.

If you believe that being aggressive, abusive or sexist will get you what you want, you are very much mistaken.

Anyone who behaves this way towards our staff will be banned from our premises. If behaviour crosses the line into threats, intimidation or violence, police will be contacted.

To the person involved today, you should be absolutely ashamed of the way you conducted yourself.

We will not accept it. We will not tolerate it. And we will not stand by while anyone is verbally abused simply because she is a woman.

Respect costs nothing. If you cannot show it, you are not welcome here.

I did think about keeping your name private, but by keeping your name private, I’d be allowing you to get away with disrespecting women and treating women like absolute rubbish. I will always call out people who treat women like garbage, so DARYL STEFF, I hope this is a learning curve for you. I hope you take the time to retrain your brain and rethink the way you speak to women and the way you treat them. And if this doesn’t change your behaviour for the next woman you come across, then I hope that after enough people have the courage to stand up to you and call you out, you might finally realise that your behaviour is unacceptable and actually change your ways.

🚗 When was the last time you changed your cabin filter?

🏆 A VERY PROUD HUSBAND MOMENT 🏆

A massive congratulations to my wife, Jaymie, and Manifolds & Mullets Mechanical for being selected as a FINALIST in the Automotive Services category for the 2026 Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards! 🩵🔧

Jaymie nominated herself for this award, and honestly, I’m bloody proud of her for having the confidence to put herself and everything she has built forward.

I think sometimes people see a small business and only see the finished product. They don’t see what actually goes on behind the scenes.

Jaymie isn’t just the person behind the business. She is a mechanic, a business owner and a massive part of what makes Manifolds & Mullets what it is.

I’ve watched her spend countless hours underneath cars, diagnosing problems, fixing vehicles, learning, problem solving and doing the same hands on mechanical work that we’re known for.

At the same time, she’s running a business, dealing with customers, organising jobs, managing the day to day chaos and constantly looking for ways to make the business better.

And she’s done all of that while building something that has always had a bigger purpose behind it.

Jaymie wanted to create a workshop where women could feel comfortable and respected in the automotive industry. A place where customers could ask questions, understand what is happening with their vehicle and know they’re being treated fairly.

She has worked bloody hard to build that trust and reputation.

I get to see the good days, the bad days, the long days and everything in between. I know just how much work, sacrifice and determination has gone into getting Manifolds & Mullets to where it is today.

So from your husband, congratulations, Jaymie. I’m bloody proud of you. ❤️

You didn’t just build a business. You built something that represents who you are, what you believe in and the kind of mechanic you wanted to be.

Being recognised as a finalist in a national award is a massive achievement, and whether we bring home the trophy or not, you should be incredibly proud of yourself.

We are incredibly honoured to be named finalists in the Greater Shepparton Business Awards for the second year in a row.

A huge thank you to everyone who nominated us. Your support, trust, and encouragement mean the world to us. Being recognised by our incredible community is something we never take for granted, and it truly is a privilege to be finalists again this year.

Tonight is the finalists networking event, where all of this year’s finalists come together to connect and celebrate the amazing businesses in our region. Unfortunately, I only got out of hospital today, so I won’t be able to attend. Sam will be there proudly representing Manifolds And Mullets Mechanical and everything our business stands for.

The awards ceremony is still a couple of months away, and we will be sure to keep you all updated on how we go. Whether we take home the award or not, being recognised as finalists for a second consecutive year is already something we are incredibly proud of.

The past three weeks have been incredibly full on for us here at Manifolds And Mullets Mechanical.

Three weeks ago Jaymie spent the entire week in hospital. She was able to get back to work last week, but unfortunately had to head back into hospital over the weekend and had just had emergency surgery today.

We just wanted to let everyone know that we are doing everything we can to get back to every phone call, text message and email, while also making sure every customer’s vehicle is completed as quickly as possible.

We completely understand that this isn’t anybody else’s problem, and we truly appreciate how important your vehicle is. Rather than cancelling everyone’s bookings and closing the workshop for a week, we’ve chosen to keep the doors open and continue doing our absolute best to look after every customer.

We kindly ask for a little patience and understanding during this time. We’ve had a few people understandably frustrated that we haven’t been able to reply to messages or return calls straight away, but at the moment it’s largely been one person trying to juggle the phones, administration and the workshop all at once.

A huge thank you to Joe for coming in today and helping ease the workload. Your support has meant so much.

The good news is that things should be back to normal from next week onwards.

To every customer who has shown us kindness, patience and understanding over the past few weeks, thank you. Your support means more than you’ll ever know, and we can’t wait to continue providing the service you know and expect from us.🩵🚙

Joe will be joining us on Wednesdays and we are absolutely thrilled to have him on board.

With many years of experience as a mechanic, Joe brings a wealth of knowledge, skill and expertise to our workshop. After spending a long time working full time in the industry, he decided to take a step back and enjoy a slower pace of life. When the opportunity came up for him and he approached us to ask if he could join us one day a week, we thought it was the perfect fit for everyone.

Not only is Joe incredibly knowledgeable, but he is also a genuinely lovely bloke who we’re proud to have as part of our team.

🔧 Sometimes a simple repair uncovers a much bigger problem…

This job came in for what was meant to be a straightforward oil cooler replacement. However, while removing the turbo, we discovered that the rear housing of the turbo was cracked and split around the wastegate flap.

Fortunately, we found the issue before the turbo completely failed. If it had let go, it could have sent metal fragments through the engine, potentially causing catastrophic engine damage and turning the repair into the cost of a replacement engine.

It’s a great reminder of why taking the time to thoroughly inspect components while they’re apart is so important. Catching problems early can save our customers thousands of dollars and prevent a major breakdown down the track.

If your vehicle isn’t sounding or performing quite right, don’t ignore it sometimes the biggest issues are hidden until you take a closer look.
