Motorsports Tasmania manages the two predominant raceways in Tasmania Symmons Plains Raceway is located on Midland Highway some 30km south of Launceston.

Motorsports Tasmania Pty Ltd was established in October 2000 to take control of the two circuit racing venues in the state by Purchasing Baskerville Raceway, near Hobart and Symmons Plains Raceway. The track is known for several interesting features including its very long back straight with a kink, its extremely tight hairpin bend at the end of the front straight and the unusual placement of the

original start/finish line and grid that was on a curve. Baskerville Raceway is located in Hobart’s northern suburb of Old Beach and is set in a natural amphitheatre with spectators able to sit in their cars and view the entire circuit. Contact numbers are as follows;

PRIVATE PRACTICE
The Hobart Sporting Car Club will be holding private practice at Buckby Motors Symmons Plains Raceway on Saturday 1st August from 9am till 4pm, with Gates open at 7.30am.
This is open to all Motorsport Australia licence holders with affiliated car club memberships.

PRIVATE PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY
We are pleased to finally be able to open Bulk Nutrients Baskerville Raceway for practice this Saturday 18th July.

Gates open 7.30am, on track from 9am till 4pm and open to all Motorsport Australia licence and affiliated car club members.

PRACTICE CANCELLATION
Unfortunately, we once again need to cancel this Friday's practice day at Bulk Nutrients Baskerville Raceway on 10th July, as our gravel trap and drainage works have not progressed sufficiently for us to obtain a safe operational permit.

We understand this may inconvenience some competitors and appreciate your patience and understanding. These important upgrades will significantly improve the safety of this historic circuit for all users.

For those still looking to get some track time, practice will be available during the Tasmanian Circuit Racing Championship Round 3 at Buckby Motors Symmons Plains Raceway on the morning of Saturday, 11th July.

It was a pleasure to help out the 500 Car Club of Tas with this weekends round of the Tasmanian Rally Championship in the bush at Dover with the Harcourts Huon Valley Stormhill Sprint.
Even though was wet and cold with a top of 5 degrees, the competitors turned it on with plenty of action, but I'm sorry my phone photography doesn't do it justice.

UNFORTUNATELY this weekend's Sunday 5th July Practice day at Bulk Nutrients Baskerville Raceway needs to be cancelled due to gravel trap work not being completed in time.

We apologise for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience, as we are working hard to improve all the safety elements at this historic circuit.

We are pleased to support the Motor Sports Club of Tas today in their Women in motorsport come and try day, with over 40 ladies trying multiple disciplines, like circuit, motorkhana and gravel Khanacross at Buckby Motors Symmons Plains Raceway.

We thank all those that volunteered their mentoring help and cars, allowing these ladies to get a taste of life in the fast lane 😀
