This fuel pump assembly came out of a vehicle that had been sitting for an extended period without being used.

Many people think parking a classic car, project car, boat, motorbike or weekend toy for months at a time does no harm… but stale fuel can quickly turn into an expensive repair bill. 😬

Over time, fuel breaks down and can leave behind varnish, sediment and moisture. This can lead to:
❌ Rust inside the fuel tank
❌ Blocked fuel pump strainers and filters
❌ Damaged fuel pumps
❌ Poor running and performance issues
❌ Hard starting or no start conditions

The best thing you can do for your pride and joy is to get it out and drive it regularly! 🚗💨

If your vehicle is going into storage, consider using a quality fuel stabiliser, keeping the tank full, and starting and driving it periodically to keep everything healthy.

Don’t let a vehicle sitting in the shed turn into a fuel system rebuild! 😉

🔋 BATTERY CHECK 🔋

Your battery is one of the most important parts of your vehicle, but it’s often overlooked.

That little sight glass (“magic eye”) on top of the battery only checks one cell and doesn’t tell you the overall condition of the battery. A battery can still show as “good” and be close to failing.

Signs your battery may need attention:
⚠️ Slow cranking when starting
⚠️ Electrical issues
⚠️ Intermittent starting problems

Most batteries last 3–5 years, depending on driving habits and conditions.

Coolant does more than just stop your engine from overheating. It helps protect your engine and cooling system all year round.

If your coolant is low or you’ve got a small leak you haven’t noticed, it can quickly turn into an overheating issue and an expensive repair.

✅ Check your coolant level regularly
✅ Keep an eye out for leaks
✅ Make sure your coolant is clean and in good condition
✅ Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot
