Three different people had the same reaction when I asked for suggestions and clarified ‘PG’ entries only. So… yes, there's certainly some others. But for the sake of a clean, fair game, I leave you with the Andrew Saide Bingo card — a highly curated collection of the one-liners the old boy turns out almost daily, hey Ben? Go on, give it a crack!

We officially sign off on Wednesday, but we proudly and happily send our very best wishes to Rasheed & Raheem, who, along with Ben, will be taking great care of you as Saide Mechanical.

And with that, it’s over to you — may your Bingo cards be full, and your memories of us always bring a smile. Same workshop, same high-quality work… just fewer catchphrases.

Well… this is awkward. It’s been at least two years since I’ve posted anything here, which either makes me the laziest social media ‘manager’ ever, or just very lucky that A&T Saide Mechanical’s reputation and your loyalty over the years have basically done my job for me.

But a rather big announcement like this deserves a post. After three decades at the helm, Andrew has taken a very big step and sold A&T Saide Mechanical. From the 1st of October, the workshop will officially be passed over to new, trusted hands.
What started as a small workshop has become something pretty huge — a trusted name, a customer base that stretches across generations, and friendships with you all that go far beyond just fixing cars.

While both the A and the T now get to embrace their next chapter, the name and legacy of A&T Saide Mechanical will continue into its next chapter.

As their daughter, I can personally attest to the hard work, long hours, tough decisions, and the heart and soul both Dad and Mum have poured in over the years. Dad has been there every day not just because he loves his craft (and he’s one of the best at it), but because of the pride and privilege it’s been to look after all of you. It’s never, ever been just business for any of us.

Now… we all know how the old boy feels about answering the phone. So here’s where you come in: please share your love, memories, and even your questions in the comments below. Over the next two weeks, I’ll be posting answers to any questions and ‘need-to-knows,’ because after looking after so many of you for so long, this is absolutely not a cut-and-run. Nor will it ever be a true goodbye.

And to Dad — congratulations. You’ve poured yourself into building something truly special that will live on well past the tools, the workshop, and even these very rare Facebook posts. You should be so proud of what you’ve achieved, the reputation you’ve earned, and the countless people who have walked through those shed doors to see you. It’s time to take a load off now, and reap what you’ve sowed.

Oh hello… It’s been a while, we know!

But we have exciting news. January 2023 marked ✨30 years✨ in business for A&T Saide Mechanical.

For over 30 years we’ve watched so many of you grow and change. We know your kids, your grandparents, even your highs and lows. And it’s always such a pleasure to be a part of it whilst looking after your cars.

To celebrate, we wanted to do something a little special. We invite you to join us to support an important local community project, that ultimately supports all of us - Maitland HealthStays.

Maitland HealthStays is seeking to provide accommodation for outpatients and families at a time when they need it most. Currently, the team is looking for a location to build near the new Maitland Hospital, and we think it would be great to help them out.

We’re kicking this off with $1000. And we’re setting the challenge for our customers, suppliers and friends to join us in this to raise as much as we can.

We’ve set an extremely ambitious goal of $30,000 in the next 4 weeks to celebrate our 30 years. We’d love if you could donate what you can and share this campaign to help us rally support.

We hope everyone has had an awesome Easter!

Just noting that due to some unforeseen events, Andrew will not be in at the workshop tomorrow. As such the workshop won't be open for any mechanical work, regos or servicing.

The shed will be open & Ben will be around from 8am - 1pm to take calls & arrange any bookings. Business should be back to normal on Wednesday. :)
