A chip in your windscreen feels like a cosmetic problem. Until it isn't.

A lot of modern cars have safety cameras mounted directly to the glass. Lane assist, auto braking, collision detection. All calibrated to that exact screen. Crack it in the wrong spot and those systems can be off without you ever knowing.
