After three seasons in the Caribbean, Gary and Katie loved the cruising lifestyle so much they're moving up to a new Balance 540. There's no clearer testament to their trust in the boat, the build, and the brand.

Where we save weight, and why some tradeoffs are worth it.

Real safety glass isn't the lightest option on a performance catamaran but it's non-negotiable. Offshore visibility matters, especially at night, and we won't compromise that with lower-grade materials just to shave off weight.

There's more to the window story, though. Our design team eliminated the centre mullion in the forward saloon, opening up an almost uninterrupted view. Larger overhead hatches followed, pouring natural light and continuous airflow through the same space.

We save weight where we can, so we can invest it exactly where it counts.

From the 526 that found the balance between bluewater performance and life aboard, through the 482, 442, 580, and flagship 750, every hull taught us something. Takoda carries ten years of that owner feedback in her carbon core construction.

Thank you to our team of builders, designers at Du Toit Yacht Design and our owners who have carved this journey with their hulls.

With the 464 and 540 on the horizon, we excited to keep growing this community.

On her shakedown passage from Cape Town the Balance 502 TwinFin saved her best for last.

274 Miles in a day, a noon-to-noon run from Fernando de Noronha to Grenada under delivery captain Daniel De Klerk (DBS Yacht Deliveries), with owners Colin and Karen.

"I'm here in Cape Town and this is the best part of my job. To see the build and meet the people!" - Patrick Roscoe, Balance COO.

Patrick recently toured our Cape Town yard for a look inside the Balance 464 and 502 hulls. Full carbon core interior. Carbon bulkheads laminated straight into the hull, no free-floating structure, nothing glued. The result is a lighter, stiffer, quieter, and faster boat.

At any given time, 10 to 20 master craftspeople are working on a single hull, hand-finishing every component before the production line advances roughly every 14 days.
